Seat For Big Ol' Boy...

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I just bought a '77 DM685, and being a pretty big ol' boy, I'm wondering if there is a really thin seat back available to give me a little more room. Any other ways to give me a little more room? Increasing miles per calorie (weight loss) is off the table.

Cheers,

Zane

Might try a Bostrom "Level-aire" II,they were pretty common in most Cabovers, and have a narrow back section, because of the limited travel room in a C.O.E,almost every freightliner C.O.E i've seen had this seat in it,so maybe a trip to a truck salvage yard would be the way to go, used truck seats can usually be picked up on the cheap!..................Mark

OPTION 2

18" steering wheel from a later year Mack or a after market vendor.

That is what the big ol' boys did here for more belly room.

Hey man, I feel your pain but maybe you should have bought a freight smacker! Mack just don't have the room for big guys. I had a buddy we called "BIG RED" he used to have a permanent mark in his shirt from the steering wheel, the seat only goes so far back.

Sometimes you're the windshield and sometimes you're the BUG!!!

All my shirts have steering wheel grease spots. I use my belly to hold the steering wheel so I can drink my chocolate milk shake, and text friends while driving.
