  1. I would try to charge the 2 12 volt batteries and like Rob said repolarise the generator and see what happens. 6 volt batteries in my experience are not as reliable as 12 volt and alot easy to purchase cheers Gearbox
  2. Hi leversole, Just a suggestion list the part no. and it may help somebody else out of trouble as well, as Arvin Meritor No's are recognised down under and good stock never know. Merry Christmas Gearbox
  3. Hi Ellis, Are you getting any oil in your air tanks, it does sound slow but the govneror may be playing up, holding the unloader valve open or the unloader maybe leaking Gearbox
  4. Hi, I personally prefer the look of tandem drive truck and would never turn a tandem into a single it feels to me you your taking the trucks credibilty away. Rigid tray trucks are fine as single drive, Prime mover style trucks just look correct with tandem drive just my opinon for what is worth all the best with your project Cheers Gearbox
  5. Great job can't wait to see more photos Ihope my B61 can look that impressive in red. It was alot of work but it I would imagine it is worth it now Cheers Gearbox
  6. I would be happy to look out for a flintstone, they do come up fairly often for sale, they are starting to pull good money as the demand is growing fast. I wouldn't think it would be to hard to find one and get some photos to email. I haven't been involved in exporting but I have a good friend that has exported cars several times. He could help me organise that side if you are interested. I found it is easier to to find flintstones here then a B61 that was still running Cheers Gearbox
  7. Hi, I live in Australia and we need to import alot of rarer trucks here as we had limited models available from new. For me I find it very interesting to see what else was available, always think that the person that paid the money is going to save the vehicle so it will be around for future generations, one day it may go back to USA shores as I know some rare 60's muscle cars have been exported back to the USA. When somebody imports a vehicle it costs alot in freight, import duties, taxs etc, they should be able to do justice to the vehicle and look after it nicely as the plan will be good generally. I feel it is a good thing
  8. Hi, I'm getting close to needing to repaint a End711 124H22 engine and would like to know what colour the engine and quad box should be Thanks Gearbox
  9. Hi, Trying to learn about Bmodels, so it may a silly question but why the is chassis no. different to the placard on the door, the trucks are old, is it just because the door or cab could have been changed or is there a better reason very curious Thanks Gearbox
  10. Hi Rob I pretty much thought that would be the case, I thought somebody may have started a bit of hobbie business carrying out small jobs like this, I was offered some panels out of another Cab Last night. I might try to make these parts as a panel once I have cut mine out to see if it would be feasible to sell them as it is a common problem Thanks Scott
  11. I am looking for rust repair section b pillar on B61 where roof joins back of cab around beauty lines in the cab and how to seal it so it doesn't rust again. I might be able to roll tlhe section up but would keen to purchase section to speed up process
  12. ELLIS, PLEASE TAKE THOSE SPLIT RIMS OFF AND DAMAGE THEM BEYOND REPAIR AS THEY ARE CALLED WIDOW MAKERS AND FOR A GOOD REASON MY FATHER WAS KILLED BY THESE RIMS AS I SAT ON THE GUARD OF B61 MY FATHER OWNED IN 1971, ALSO MY FONDEST MEMORIES OF MY FATHER ARE IN A B MODEL AND ALSO MY WORST BUT AS YOU KNOW I NOW OWN ONE BECAUSE I WANT THE FOND MEMORIES BACK. PLEASE THROW THEM AWAY DAMAGED AS THEY WILL COME APART BECAUSE THEY RUST AND DO NOT SEAT PROPERLY ANY MORE JUST RUN RADIALS ON THERE PUT UP WITH IT SAFETY FIRST ALWAYS NOBODY SHOULD COMPLAIN ABOUT IT WHEN RESTORING SUCH A VEHICLE THANKS GEARBOX
  13. Hi to every body out there, Just recently purchased a 65 B61 with END711, Quad box, tandem drive and a City Cab(I believe to be a rare combination with only 4 arriving on our shores would like some varification if anybody Knows the truth). I had completed many trips as a young child sleeping between the front seats of a B61 and used to help my father change gears and I guess it started a`special bond with B61's. It has been a life long dream to purchase a B61 and it finally has happened. Mechanically it is in great condition but the cab it self is a little rusty around the beauty lines on the right side, would love to know any body that makes a repair panel for this section(it is stessing me out) the rest of the truck is easy to complete.would love to catch up with others in SA that own B61 Macks. As it is easy to catch up with others in the state and enjoy forst hand others with same interest. Can't wait to get stuck into the body and paint and tidy it up, I feel lucky that there is very little mechanical work to do
