  1. We used to rent McHugh’s trailer from time to time. They were really nice people.
  2. Joe,reading what you have said makes me rethink about doing this job.I really don’t have to do it,it would just make the paint that much better. You mentioned double frame trucks well mine is triple frame,so I can just think of the headaches I may be getting into.I was going to paint the frame and rearend myself and have a real painter do the cab, hood, fenders and all the stuff that you’ll see.Going to see a fellow that I may have do the frame,he has a big paint booth. It’s not that I’m afraid of hard work or just heavy lifting it’s that I had a heart attack a year ago and dealing with kidney stones and passing blood.Doc doesn’t want me to be doing any lifting. That the good thing of having my shop not at the house, between my wife and daughter I don’t know who’s worse.I will keep you all posted.
  3. No it spent it life here in Philadelphia. It was always parked inside the first 20 years or so.
  4. Looking for a glovebox door (tan color) for my r model.
  5. JoeH,doing it your way the a frames as I call them will stay attached to the frame rails,my way the a frames stay attached to the rears.I’m thinking it may be easier my way.
  6. First I’ve gotta say thanks to everyone that has responded, thank you.I’m thinking that I will pull the frame and rears out of the building then spin it around and push it back in. This way the rear of truck is right at the door, that way I can use something big to pull them out.Like mattb73lt said his 58,000’s were 7,000 lbs, mine are 65,000’s.The first thing I will try today is to try and loosen them up,with some heat and the 1” airgun. If they don’t come loose I may just bag it.Tks again look forward for the pictures.
  7. Well I’m going for it.Breaking out the 1” airgun,if that doesn’t do it I’ll add a little heat to the nuts and hopefully they come off.
  8. The a frames stay attached to the bogies.I’m not talking about taking the leaf springs apart, once I remove the bogies I will be able to get everything blasted and painted.
  9. Mack’s,no removing the caps won’t do it.I have to remove the 10-1 1/2 locking nut and the 2 torque rods on top. Then I will be able to slide them out.
  10. crusieliner64, I don’t think any of the parts that may be worn out would be available.I am mostly doing this to get the paint job right.I know that no one will be crawling under the rears to look and the fifth wheel will cover most of the top but I will know.
  11. I am thinking of doing this to make the painting that much easier.Has anyone here done it before. It doesn’t look all that tough to do.My biggest concern is it has 65,000 lbs rears and canal back suspension. The truck has moved 100 ton before so I’m concerned with anything springing and not able to get it back together.
  12. Found one.Tks for the help
  13. Looking for a parts truck,B81.
  14. Mine is a fa600 axle,I think I have a part number it could be one of these 2.First is 16bq1114-1 or 66sz-17
  15. If I remember my axle is a fa600 I will check
  16. If I remember my axle is a fa600 I will check
  17. I could use one spring.Tks
  18. Here’s a picture
  19. That’s what I’m looking into.
  20. As most of you know,I’m restoring my B87 tractor.Need some help the truck has power steering and I’m looking for one of these nuts. It’s in one of the cylinders for the power steering.I would even take the whole end.Tks for any help.
  21. Got everything blasted from the front all the way back to the front rear today. Will drag it outside and give it one more once over and also the underside of frame. Then I’ll get to the rear tandems and rear suspension ,then it will be time to call it quits for the sandblasting. Will get a picture or two when I drag it outside. It supposed to rain late today and tomorrow morning maybe so I won’t be dragging it outside.
  22. Going to finish the blasting inside the shop.I put up a portable tent over the truck, will be leaving the garage door open when blasting.Hopefully I will get the front spokes and brake drums off and the steering linkage. After it all off I will be able to clean out any blasting media that made it way into the brakes. Then I will start hand sanding the frame getting it ready for primer. Will get a picture tomorrow.
  23. I may have figured it out about posting pictures. Will be doing some more blasting tomorrow.Hope to have it all done back to the front rear.
  24. Will be back at it(sandblasting)tomorrow.I removed the front tandem tires,so I have a clear view.Would like to get it all done to the rear axle.Any suggestions on how I can post pictures,it says there is a server error.
  25. Will be out of commission for a few days.Recovering from kidney stone removal.
