  1. When we (me) were cleaning out the first truck i drove (1963 B-61T) i found an old green glass bottle that said "4U" on it......some type soft drink i imagine but i have never heard of it, there was also a piece of a newspaper with an ad for the new 1964 studebaker station wagon $995.00..........Mark
  2. 12K???? no wonder its been for sale 2 years! but i'm 80% sure this is the truck i remember, overdrive magazine used to sponsor the "diesel truck nationals" at englishtown back in the 80's,saw it there quite a few times, why they chose a 9000 white is beyond me,but i did look up engine city tech.,and they are still in existance, just renamed lincoln engine city tech. .................Mark
  3. I believe you may have stumbled onto a piece of history here! if this is the same truck,it was built as a instructor/student project at ENGINE CITY TECH. which was a vocational/technical school in northern NJ. It was built with the pupose of exibition runs on a drag strip,to prove a diesel engine could be "hot rodded" i saw the truck myself many times at old bridge (englishtown) raceway park. If memory serves, this truck was powered by a supercharged VT-903 cummins engine, allison automatic trans.,could turn the quarter mile in 11.70 seconds at 117 mph. The truck was known as "shake rattle and roll". I am going to see if i can find the pictures i took of it in action back in the 1980's to show how it originally appeared. If BULLHUSK reads this, he may remember the truck as well, and may be able to shed some more light on the subject, but i'd bet my bottom dollar this is the same truck!...............Mark
  4. I get a chance,i'll run down there this weekend, see if they are still there, maybe see what i can find out............Mark
  5. Thats my opinion as well,i admire craftsmanship, but with better planning, some more research, this COULD have been an exemplary project,i'm sure there is plenty of time, money, and a lot of hard work involved but as stated, better planning and better fit/finish work would have improved this immensly. I personally would'nt have "butchered" a classic truck, but thats just me,my opinion........BTW, whats a "chasey" LOL.............Mark
  6. Hey paul, just read your latest reply to rob concerning air brakes,i was very impressed with the adendum to that post, just my opinion but i think you should re-post that part for everyone to read. It is great to see someone so concerned with the safety aspect of our hobby! I thought about re-posting it myself, but surely don't want to take any un-due credt!.............Mark

Rob,i have a buddy of mine out in montebello,CA that owns/operates a polish shop, he does a lot of the truck/trailer tankers out there, he uses a product called "durashine" on them, guarantees the shine for a year.
