That sounds easy enough! But I'm sure I'll figure out the hard way to do it, lol... Looks like I need to add line to the tank and make an small adapter hose for the dump line to use on my exsisting quick connects for the supply line. Remember, I'm wanting to keep the pony motor for back up. Here's a few pic's of what I got to work with. Sorry I dropped the ball on this one, it finally quit raining and I've been full throttle!
-
I can go out to my truck and climb under it and trace the lines with some pics for you. It is still dry here Should have one from the tank to pump. Pump to back then a return back to the tank or pump to recirculate. Or take the trip to B'ham and look for yourself
I hear ya man! I'd love to come hang, there's a lot of good music going on in B'ham and most of it's coming from my home town . I just don't have the time......who am I kidding, my wife would kill me, I'm on probation...lol

Thanks for all the great tips! I'll post some pic's of what I got to work with later today.
So if I understand, I can use the single dump line I already have and just add a return line to the tank?
-
Good Morning! My truck has a wet kit, but I've never used it. As of now it has a single line that was used on a dump trailer. Supposidly everything works? I'd like to add two lines to opperate my detach trailer. I've been using the pony motor that came on the trailer, it's plumbed in with two quick connects. I'd like to keep the pony for back up. I would also like to keep the single line for the dump trailer and just add the two for my detach trailer. My pto looks like it has a spot for two more connections, do I just plumb it in and rock and roll, or is there more to it?

Once I got the right grommets they went in just fine. Lesson: If your trailer came with Grote lights/grommets, you at the very least have to have the Grote rubber grommets if you replace any at all.
-
I now know what you mean by grote! The other grommets will not work!
-
I'm having trouble installing the grommets and lights without breaking them....... They are a little different than what I had, they have a raised lip on the outside of the frame. I can get my 4" rubber grommets in but not the light and I can't even get the 2.5" grommets in period! Used a little oil with no luck. Any tips or tricks here would be appreciated. I get all the wiring done and can't even get the damn lights in!
By the way BBIGRIG, I now have a junction box at the end of my Fontaine trailer Thanks for the eye opener!
-
Yup, I'm married to a Fontaine too. I'm hoping the solder job will help my troubles. The new LED's I got seem to have a better conneciton too.
-
BBIGRIG, I appreciate your reply and help! Was trying to get this done before Monday hit. I just got confused thinking that the turn light would also serve as a brake light when not in used as turn signal.
No junction boxes on my trailer, "was" a bunch of mangled patched up wires from the previous owner. Cut it all out, replaced all pig tails & groumets, soldered and heat shrink all connections and replaced all the lights with LED's. This is a lowboy truck with a detach, so I added two led strobes in the grill and two LED strobes on the rear too. Now hopefully these nuts pulling out in front of me will see me coming and back off! Thanks!

Hello, I've started installing new LED's on my trailer and I've gotten stumped . I've got 4 tail lights, two each side, all serve as lamp and brake then one each side is a turn also. My question, the one with turn, how do I wire it for stop too? If I splice it into the stop wire wouldn't it bleed over to both lights and make them both blink? Help!!! I cut it all loose before looking didn't think it would be that big of deal......My pig tail has three wires, one for ground, one for lamp and one for blinker or stop. Where does the stop go here? the only way I see is to use the ground wire for stop???
CONFUSED YET?

Got the rod from OEM replacement parts www.oemreplaceme.com . Great to do business with! Good luck with your project Paul!
-
Where to get replacement rods that don't need machining, anyone?
-
Ok, got the kits from H&D, good to do business with! Now I'm looking for a resource on the rods. I've got one that's worn/damaged enough that I'd rather replace it than re-chrome. Any one know of a good place to look for a new cylinder rod?

Try these guys, http://www.nh-hydraulics.com/index.htm
they can usually get us anything we need.
Thank you, I'll give em a try!

I understand being cheap but at what cost. bite the bullet if online doesn't have them. By the time you factor in fluid loss and possible burned up pump, It will cost you more then getting them then. Only ran Cat OEM when we had machinery and now with my truck only Cat touches the engine.
Not trying to go the cheap way out, to much trouble to tear down four cylinders and go cheap. I feel the same way about certain things with Deere, but there is almost a $1k difference between hercules and deere for all four kits. I've had several mechanics, including my deere field mechanic say the hercules is just as good if not better in seal kits. But there no good if there not available!
Just got a lead on these guys http://www.hddistributors.com Fingers crossed!

Good evening! I'm in the middle of rebuilding all the cylinders on a Deere 200C LC (yellow Hitachi with Deere stickers) and my mechanic only orders direct from Herculie's and the kits are 2 weeks on back order (give or take, go figure). I'm curious of a retailer that might have them in stock or another brand that would be as good or better, so I want have to spend twice the money at Deere. Any tips on a good online retailer and other brands will be a huge help! Thanks!

Compressor ordered! I think any of the compressors in this topic would serve anyone well. I decided to go with the deere which is made by Mi-T-M Corporation, just dressed out in deere green (Deere gave me the best deal). There were two main reasons for my decision, one is the 29 CFM @ 175PSI (wow, so a lower PSI will have more CFM), the other is my deere dealer is with in 5 miles from me for service and there is also a Mi-T-M service/dealer about another 5 down the road. So parts or service shouldn't be a problem if a problem occurs. I appreciate eveyones help and I hope this topic helps some other dude in the future. I've listed my decision below for referrence. Thanks!

I appreciate all the input. I'm trying to figure out which bank to rob to come up with the extra few hundred to buy a Quincy or IR . I'm really liking this one with the pressure lubricated pump.

Yeah, I need some air volume..Got a Deere 200C excavator and 750C dozer. Cleaning the radiators and cooling coils can be a fun job, not to mention the cab and air filters. Never had a real good compressor, I think mine runs about 6 CFM. Good enough for around the house and shop, but the time has come! I never have been a fan of all the throw away stuff these days, I like buying things to keep.
-
We have a new contender.....29 CFM. Should have a price Monday, but my dealer said he thought the last one he sold was around $2300.
-
The Quincy's are nice but to get one with comparable specs is out of my range. I like the IR Compressors but there's a $539 difference between the NorhStar that has almost identical specs. The Chicago Pneumatic is comparable too with a $177 difference. That's based on the best deals I've found. They all have the Honda GX390 engine. I think any of the three would do the job. I've listed a comparison below but I can beat the price on the IR and CP, it's just for comparison.
-
I'm leaning toward the NorthStar. It's a USA company located MN. Seems to have plenty of CFM's to clean out those clogged radiators and run a 1 in impact if need be.

Hello everyone! Looking at buying a new gas air compressor and would like hear everyone's input. I need to keep it around the $2k range. I'll be using it mainly for my heavy equipment repair and service, blowing out radiators and filters etc. Here's what I've got it narrowed down too, but I'm open to suggestions. Let me know what you think and thanks!

Lowboy Tires
in Tractors and Equipment
Posted
Hello everyone! I found a good buy on some used Michelin 255/80/R22.5 XRV tires with 85% or better tread life. My question is, they are X"RV" so would they be safe to run on a 35 ton lowboy? I only do short local hauls. I've tried researching just to get even more confused about commercial tires. Your help is appreciated!
