  1. I can look some thing up on your truck, but since some recent changes the parts records no longer display as a normal build sheet with arrangement numbers.

Thanks rh, At one time I thouhgt you could pretty much pull up the history of the truck. I guess I waited to late. Thought it would be good to have on hand since the truck is getting older and I don't have any real plans of getting rid of it.

Once I start working on this "Z" spring you'll probably see it on here next week in the Gallary with a good price on it!

  2. I'm thinking it is original to the truck. It still has the mack air bags, but where would be the best place to look to identify?

This brings up something I've been meaning to ask, if I give my VIN can someone on here get me my build sheet?

  3. Is that the bar that's got a Z shape to it? If so, it didn't seem TOO hard to remove or reinsert when I had my rear end apart welding on the axle housing...not sure about cost, though.

Yea man that's it. I'm wondering if it's a mack part or not?

  4. More is better than less, depending on how you have all your air lines set up and what not... Here's a picture of mine, but with a dump trailer. You should be able to see how it is and there's more than enough slack.

I appreciate it. Once I got my thoughts together, I realized it shouldn't be to bad. I just got to figure out what I need to add the two lines to the pump itself. Looks like I'm rained out tomorrow so I'm gona take a closer look.

  5. The 2 line system is a loop. With the pony motor, there is a low pressure suction from a hydraulic reservoir to the pony pump and then a high pressure from the pump to the system. You need a T on both the low and high pressure lines. Easiest place should be near the pony pump. Put 90 degree shut offs on both inputs to the T, allowing you to choose from the trailer reservoir and pony pump or the tractor reservoir and pump. For the tractor, you'll just need to run a return line to your tractor reservoir. A single line wet kit feeds relief pressure back through the single line at the pump. After you add your return line on the tractor, putting the PTO on and the valve in the "raise" position, you'll have continuous high pressure flow to the trailer system.

Thanks a bunch!. I forgot to mention that my trailer has two quick disconnects that the pony is plugged into. Could this take the place of the T's?

  6. I certainly appreciate everyone's help and I apologize for jumping back in so late, been a long day. I do have a single frame air ride. HK, thats a good looking truck you converted. I am somewhat new in the trucking world, been in excavation and construction the better part of my career, but we were developing large sub-divisions etc and were stationary for months if not years at a time. We would do all the land clearing and roughing things in and contract out the rest. About three years ago when housing went to poop, I started working for the general public doing mainly land clearing. I've learned quick that unless I want this just to be an expensive hobby, I've got to expand my services. Get a lot of calls from people wanting chert, gravel, fill dirt and top soil as well as demolition. So thats why I need a dump, but after reading everyones opinion and talking to others, I think I just need to get a dump trailer or go ahead with a dump truck purchase. The best think I like about my truck is that it's paid for and I know it. Didn't want to add debt buy getting another truck. Don't think I would get enough out of mine to justify a sale, market seems to be flooded here. So what do you men think about dump trailers and what direction should I look?

  7. I also turned my intake louvers on the hood around to face forward for more of a "ram" air effect....every little bit helps.

Being a dodge man, I like that idea. I can see some custom lovers reversed pushing air in. humm

  8. I'm not for sure if it would be a violation of any copy right etc. but shop around at your local sign shops or ask who ever done your truck lettering. If you have a good photo of what they should look like, I'd bet they would be able to get pretty darn close. I've been thinking of doing the same instead of paying big bucks for a E7-427 emblem. I've already used my local shop to make some WIDE LOAD decals. Good luck

  9. hey good to see ya deere mack, did you get your fan problem fixed??????

    this is just my opiion!!!!!!!

i think it will be required to go into the state of ca. thay have allready done this with reffer units, and they say they are going to do the same with trucks.

those commy hippy b@$#tards, have no concept that something has to be profitable for it to actually work in a capatol system. i guess it all goes allong with thier hopes of a socialist country, guess they never heard of bonito mussillini, ive heard about him even if i can't spell it.

Thanks, Good to still be around. I guess you could say I did. It runs continously, so I guess I can live with that.

  10. This type of conversation reminds me of the health care bill being rammed down our throats tomorrow. Walgreen's pharmacy has already said that they will have to refuse Medicare because no profit would be available for them to honor this service. So now we have the domino effect, they will need a bail out to be able to meet our new government health care regulations. This bill will also affect education funding of young want to be mechanics, etc. So here we go no money available from the private sector for education. Now let me get back to the topic. If the government starts forcing these regulations on our "out of date" trucks, sooner than later the government will be in control of the trucking industry in its entirety. This county is being sold out!

  11. I was talking trucks with a friend the other day and he he was telling me about his newer 2008 model Mack truck. I was asking him if he ever had any trouble with the EGR or any of the emission garb that comes on the newer trucks. Being the die hard Mack owner he is, he said no. But he did go on to say that he read somewhere that by 2012(?) all trucks would be required to add this garb to be legal. I went on to say by 2012 my truck would be, if not already, conidered a classic and pushing the antique status. So here is my question. If you have and antique truck, would this apply or is this simply hog wash?
