  1. that's an easy one to answer mackdaddy! I'd reckon it'd be that screamin' Detroit!
  2. Hi Rob, yeah mate, I know what an "RD" is and I'd love to bring one over here to OZ. They have a heavier chassis etc don't they or am I wrong? Things were somewhat different here i.e. an R600 could be specced fairly heavy but it was still an R600 as far as I know. If I'm wrong someone please correct me, Mick
  3. that's what I called it 'til a closer look shows the "B" model hood emblems etc and I'm no expert but it does look like a "B" hood to me! stuffed if I know! I'm guessing that it"s a B8? or B8?? with gaurds as used on the R800's that started this post and also used on other non U.S. built Macks i.e. some of those shown on the Iran Mack post. I've noticed that Mack has built many different models outside the U.S. but as I've said that's half the fun for me identifying them. cheers Mick p.s. do you know the definition of an expert? X(ex) is the unknown factor and a spurt(xpurt) is a drip under pressure :-)
  4. Over you're side of the pond they're RD600 steel nose! What you guy's call an RD600 I don't think there is an equivalent here. But I do think we did get close to it with some of the local built units.
  5. I found this on here somewhere, it's an interesting Mack! Anyone got any ideas?
  6. I've been waiting forever for one of these companies to come up with a good 1/64 R model and what do we get? the same old tooling just done smaller!!!!! For shit sake people update the f'ing wheels or something please!!!! Maybe even come up with an updated cab. I'm over it, Mick
  7. Hi Rob, I think you've hit the nail on the head mate! It's not so much the export version of a DM800 but I reckon it's the Aussie version of it! Mick
  8. OK Superdog, I'm with you! We've answered my question pretty well so now I'd like to see a DML800 too! Anyone got something? This is half the the fun of it for me, tracking down the odd, different models that Mack produced over the years. Cheers Mick p.s. are they anything to do with the detroit powered DM's seen on the net?
  9. Thanks everyone I've got it worked out I think! The "R800" it seems would be an Aussie spec unit not seen in the USA just as the RD600-RD800, DM600-DM800, DMM & U600 were not built here. Cheers
  10. G'day Rob, the R800SX on these pics sounds about right but I'm not sure. Thanks for posting them, cheers
  11. G'day can anyone help with this one? I'm curious what model it is, it's like cross between an RD800 and a DM800. As we've never had RD's or DM's here in AUS I'm guessing it would be R?800??? There's a fair chance it'll end with SX! cheers Mick stolen from the interweb, of course
  12. Mark, the "f---ing idiot that made those comments wouldn't know what they were looking at! Down under we'd say they were a few sheep short in the top paddock. Mick
