  1. thanks for the pic,but mine looks different. here it is. and she seems damn tight too.. should i try some heat??
  2. i tried again today and no luck. i was told to try some heat, but kind of scared because of its closness to the filters etc... to me its a swivel at the turbo end, but not at the oil filter housing end. i will try to get a pic.
  3. got a chance to take a better look. its not a swivel at the housing end. i got some nut blaster on it to see if it helps to loosen that up. she is dam tight. anybody else turbo oil line that tight at the filter housing?? i am afraid i will pull the threads out or break something.
  4. thanks. yes a mack e7, sorry for missing that. what it looks like is the swivel end is on the filter housing. and on the turbo end of the hose its a swivel. so i guess i was turning it the wrong way. duh!! thanks again
  5. need to replace my oil line from my turbo to the top of the oil filter housing. does the hose have a special connection at the oil filter housing? the reason i ask is i quickly tried to take it off at the housing but damn dont know if it a special fitting or i am just weak. could not get it to move. ran out of time, but gonna try again tommorrow and see whats up. any tips?
  6. check power steering fluid. hydro boosts run off your power steering pump. with your key on and engine off you should hear a buzzing coming from your hydro boost. park break switch??
  7. hey great pics and great explaination of what you did!!!! my mack mr is not set up like that, but still great info.
  8. took a look at my king pins today and my pass side needs adjustment. calls for .005 to .027 for upper knuckle clearence mine on the pass side is much more than that. gonna try adjusting it. the king pins were replaced a little over a year ago.
  9. thanks. no issues the one reason i wish to change it is my tranny cooler was leaking for some time. i replaced that and flushed the sytem. i just thought maybe my engine oil cooler may be gummed up and should also be replaced. thanks
  10. hey gang. i am about to replace the oil cooler in my 96 mr688s truck. it has the e7 300 engine non electronic. i changed my tranny cooler a few months ago and would like to replace the oil cooler also just for piece of mind and easier now with nice temps. my question is. do i need to drop the oil? any tips on replacing the cooler? also in the pic i believe the cooler is located inside the long cylinde just below the filter and above the alternator. attachment=58897:Engine pictures 006.jpg]
  11. hi. not too sure. its on a mr688s truck and the sound seems to be coming from the center near the front close to where the power inverter connections are. took a peak noticed 3 circuit breakers and a large solenoid. the breakers seemed fine and none were tripped. gonna check the connections at the solenoid. thanks
  12. sounds like a solenoid or circuit breaker clicking. seems to happen when i stop the truck and shift from gear to neutral. the truck has an auto trans. when the clicking happens it does not seem to hurt anything. everything still works and no visible signs of trouble. tha sound is coming from under the dash near the circuit breakers and solenoid. thanks
  13. thanks gang. gonna double check those tie tods. i checked the tire for out of round. seems good. will recheck though. what is the best way to check the tie rods and draglink.? i should also mention i have balance beads installed. thanks again
  14. hey gang. yah i have been checking this out for a while now. just when it looked like i may have won the battle it seems to return, but this gets weird. my wobble issue got to a point where it seemed to diminish, but i went a lubed up my front end king pins and now it seems my wobble is back. wtf. king pins are brand new. do you think its possible they are not installed correctly. the wobble only occurs at 35mph and is gone at 40 mph. kind of pisses me off. anyways have a great day.
  15. probably oil cooler. check your oil level if she is going down. its the cooler
  16. well out she came. actually quite easy. no crossmemeber just a skid plate to remove. 34 bolts on the bottom tank and out she came. gonna have the rad shop check it out and rebuild. what do you guys suggest using to flush the cooling sytem.
  17. i dont think i have any coolant in the trans. fluid there did not seem to rise, but will check again. are the side support bracket bolts known to break easily?
  18. hey gang. seems like i got some tran fluid sitting in my coolant resovoir. thinking the tran cooler has a leak. anyways the rad in my mr688s has the tran cooler at the bottom of the rad inside the bottom tank. the bottom tank is bolted to the rad bottom with a bunch of bolts, has anyone removed all the bolts at the bottom to replace or service the cooler itself. thinking maybe i could just service the cooler without removing the rad. thanks
  19. hi fellow hauler. must be electronic shift. or is it manual cable shift?
  20. thanks. so where would i place the jack in order to make sure the saddle still pivots or can i try without jacking?
  21. i understand that the adjustment nut for the rear camelbacks have been known to come loose. what is the correct way to do this. what torque. thanks
  22. compression release. i had the same on my international. do NOTpull on it with engine running.
  23. thanks guys. after taking a closer look i realized its impossible. thanks again
  24. i thought the yoke at the trans and the rear diff yoke are suppose to face the same way.
