  3. so if i carry plugs to cork off the lines, would i still need to block the egr????????????? it is not uncommon for me to be 1,200 miles away from a mack shop. i was thinking for the cost of coolant, mabe save the mass flow tube and get me in....

  5. i was having a/c issues last fall schraeder valve leaking, i let it go till a few weeks ago. i notice now the fan runs continuios wen the a/c is on. it hurts the boost 5 to 7 psi. i never noticed it before???? with a/c turned off everything is fine??????????????? high oil temp????? i just cleand the screen 10,000 miles ago.small leaks(hose clamps) and a hose. hve resuled in a complete coolant change 4 times in the last 100,000 miles. if mackpro reads this i need shocks for steer axle, ride hight valve drives, egr. cooler cleaned. what do you think about a egr emergencey kit??????? a U shaped pipe to bypass the coolant, and a block plate for the egr????????? maybe get me in without a tow?????????
  6. i don't know if idling afects the egr system???????? im to stubbern to haul cheap freight so it is not uncommon for the truck to idle 4 or 5 days some times 8 or 10 days. it gets 3.8 hrs. per gallon. and everyone i know with a APU burn just as much fuel and they are always broken. they spend thousands every year trying to keep their apu running half the time..
  7. if i drive it like i stole it, in the mountains, i can make it throw a high egr temp code i have to keep both hands on the back of her head to do so. the high oil temp is weird????????? and the lack of booost
  8. coming out of utah east on hwy 80, not to heavy about 70,000 noticed i was down on power. oil temp 225 boost around 23 psi, sometimes 25 hills i usually pull 40 mph in 10th gear, im pulling 30 mph in 8th no matter how hard i tried, i could not get oil temp to come down taking my time, trying to get to ky. stayed in big springs,ne. next 375 miles were flat and i was saving fuel, so i didnt notice anything wrong. stopped rite at mo.state line, truck was ideling so rough i was thinking tow. i was thinking camshaft????? then it cleared up a little. i took off south on hwy 29 rollercoaster, run up to 68 mph and hit cruse, it was pulling like it should oil temp 200 boost 33 psi with the cruse off or on it ran perfectly.......????????????!!!!!!!!!!pullin like it was pissed off
  9. run away as fast as you can..... the cxn is worse than the chn. but the 460 engine is a knightmare in either. all 2004 are clean, with low miles, cause you can't keep them running long enough to get them dirty. I had one myself, and i have met many others on boards such as this one. and we were all trying to figure out how to fix them. general concences burn them and start over is the cheepiest fix. new truck payments a less than trying to keep an 2004 running. it may sound like im exagerating, but im not... look in the truck paper, ts hard to find a 2004 with 500,000 miles. most have just over 3oo,00o, thats when warrenty was up. all dealers know about this. if a dealer is trying to sell you a 2004. ask him for a 200,000 mile warrenty on the emission system, and notice the expression on his face. it cost about 30 cents a mile for emission repairs.... egr cooler and mass flow tube about 4 grand, pluss the tow. last between 100,000 and 200,00o miles. oil cooler screen, coolant push issues. but they are very quiet and ride and drive lke a luxury car. i would be offended if a dealer tried to sell me one. hope this helps????

  16. glad to hear you made it... no sympathy from me. i can't count the weeks i put 2500 miles on a DM packing 30 toners..... but my DM had a 350 and a 13 speed. and sumhow the screw dissapered from the throttle stop.

  18. put a quadrajet on a 440 when i was a kid about 17, got good mpg as long as i stayed out of the secondarys. but that quadrajet sound was hard to resist.

  21. i have been around heavy zone dumptrucks all my life. when your talking 90,000 lbs. plus on a straight truck, a patched frame will not hold. every body says they can fix it, or they know sombody that can. i have never seen it work. i bet everyone that says they seen it work, it was just long enough to get rid of it. you can patch it till you can afford to fix it. but without replacing the rails its only a patch.

  23. my wife finished chemo thursday. doing very well. it was a lot better than the radiation. got my supply's loaded, she has a doctor app. tuesday, then im gona make a trip. hoping for a good one...... got enough money for fuel, just hope i don't have a flat......

  25. it will cause nightmares, but i had to run a full can of starting fluid to pick up prime before. short burst of spray not letting it rev to high. i get angrey enough for the, RUN OR BLOW YOU SOB, sooner than most......
