  2. Thanks Steve, A co worker went to Tenn. also and he really liked it. He uses what he learned in school everday. Hands on at an early age also helps. Instead of video games on a resume' alittle grease under the nails will get you some where,Tim
  3. Clean R and hard working DMM. Looks like a lube tender.
  4. Since Max was 5 he was scraping cows and forking feed. 8 years old running 490 excavator and then at twelve driving the dump and all the hay equipment. We have given him all the toy's over the years but he has learned and earned them for sure. Last year got him mens jewlery, Snap on box and a start of tools. 6' 230lbs at 16, He dosn't beat me do to respect. He has been talking about the school in Ohio. We are still looking around, Tim

  6. Great stuff Gentlemen, I will look into all you have told me. I know his school here in northern Vermont has told him about Northwestern in Ohio. I just want him to make the right choice. We were all at that age once and I jumped right into full time work. I would like to see him get some kind of education, Tim
  7. Great photo of a early low bed. Thank you for posting them.
  8. WOW, That's some memory of truck companies. I remember my Uncle Matty who drove for Shusters for years when I was a young driver telling me; "When I drove truck men where steel and trucks where wood". As he hobbled away hunched over!
  9. Remember when Dad said; "Sears Best" and that was the truth. Have Grandpa's old 1/2 inch drive and one my wife bought me last year.....Grandpa's is still going strong and last years model is striped and a knuckle buster so into the scrap pile and back to China it goes.
  10. Nice old truck! I've got some photo's of the oldies I drove in the early 80's I need to share, Tim
  11. In Norwich Ct. we had a Two Guys and Grants. Who Remembers Buster Browns shoes? How about the good old truck company's like Shusters trucking, Rapid Transit, Holmes and Moskowitz who was out of Ct. and Jersey.
  12. My wife hates riding in the truck but my son and I think it sounds get. Great sound going through the tunnel in Montreal, Quebec
  13. Tilcon replaced the V8's with 6 cylinder engines in the DM's as they got older. But there are some with the V8 still around. My 1995 3500 Chevy has straight pipes from the manifolds back then to a tee with 4.5 pipes..
  14. Mark will work on anything but airplane mags. Insurance is very expensive for anything that can fall out of the sky. He would be happy to help you and probably has something one the shelf ready to go. He is a collector of old cars and has a 39 Dodge dump with only 7000 miles on it. I'll see if I have a photo of it, Tim
  15. Our wives must be related!
  16. Hi all, If anyone has any questions about any type of mag or in need of a mag or coil or related parts my brother Mark would be happy to help. Marks # 860 537 0376
  17. Years back in Conn. Tilcon had a bunch of DM 800's with V8's maybe 400hp. I was hooked after hearing them and then having my first E9 my face hurt from smiling so much. There are still a few running around northern Vermont hauling chips and logs, Tim
  18. Well, I think if I bring any more Candy home.....The candy store at home is gonna close
  19. Main Street Newport, Vt. had a Montgomery Ward store and I remember all the catalogs I sat on at Thanksgiving and Christmas time.
  20. Yes, F.E.T. still needed so the less $ out the better and the Magnum next to my truck isn't the only one. Paper work was generously done by my good friend in Quebec and I had no trouble bringing it home. Bumpy ride it was!
  21. Rob, Leave a note for Fullfuel01. He may have what your looking for.
  22. Thanks for the break down Rob, I don't know anything about injection pumps but when our Mack man took the imperfections out the truck went like day and night and didn't need to replace any parts. It was great not having to take the pump off to get rebuilt.
  23. I had our local "Mack" man of 40 + years remove the barrels on the top of my pump, 1988 350 and remove the springs and "squish" plates. Using a piece of plate glass for a flat surface then with fine emery cloth over the plate glass wet with diesel. Holding the flat surface of the squish plate on the wet emery trace a figure 8 with your hand till any imperfections are removed. This was done to my 1988 350 and it helped performance 100%. Tim
  24. Gotta love yellow Mack trucks
