I have an 05 CH. if you pull the front cover off in the cab where the cup holder is there is a filter in font of the evap and heater core if 99 is the same

Or the bigger injectors are over fueling at idle might need an ecm reprogrammed or a new trim file for them don’t know if Mack has trim files like the Cummins have I hear ya on the eup lines reconditioning I’ve only reused them in an emergency but replaced them soon after

Did you try adj the valves and check the camshaft. Seen quite a few of these eat cams. Just a thought

Pull the top of the govener box and check the govener spring and linkage for binding

How many hours on it. I had one once with about 20 thousand hours had a couple worn exhaust guides had blow by under load something else to check

Did you just replace the inside drive cable or both the drive cable and the housing for the cable I always put a little oil or light grease in the cable housing

4:17 will give you more highway speed no matter what size tire you put on the 24.5 will give you the most high way speed

1 check tank for crap. 2 check fuel lines. 3 check lift pump 4ckeck filter housing for crack 5 check fuel tank or fuel cap for ventilation 6 if it has a fuel tank shut off valve check that also I’ve seen some with rubber in them fall apart and cause a problem but that was usually on old ones that people changed

They are good and heavy but when you have guys that can’t keep their foot off the floor and eat up clutch brakes the newer ones that just have a pop in pin are easier to do
