  1. The Vomag is a nice looking truck. The Merc L was indeed a tough truck. There were some here in Ireland but not many...still no style like a Mack.KW or Pete.....
  2. Yes but the cab is narrowed from the cabover design giving a proper matched up hood. The Europian truck makers dont change the cabover cab just stick bits on to try to make a matching hood but instead make a mess.I mean look at the Merc in JCs post......its a mess, something a child would make outta lego..... Paul
  3. No fighting between us over the trucks. It's the MAN all day long for me.To be honest Europian truck makers just cant make a truck with a hood. They start with a cabover cab and just add bits to try to make a hood. The result is the worst trucks you have ever seen...no style like a Mack Peterbilt or Kenworth.....some might like the Merc in JCs post but to me its a mess.....just my humble thoughts.... Paul
  4. What I dont get is the adoration of the Scania.Drove loads of them when I was on the road.I would describe them as average trucks...good enough but nothing special. The last driving job I was in we had 5 Hinos 1 Iveco 2 Volvos and 2 Scanias. The Volvos and Scanias fell apart the Iveco wasnt too bad but the Hinos were superb.By the time we finnished the fleet was all Hinos....If I was to pick a Europian truck now it would be the MAN TGX 480 Smooth reliaible economical and to my eyes look fantastic...JC is right no one would buy 770 HP unless the work needed it and the 770 Scanias are rare over here. Most Scanias are in the 4-500HP range.....anyway im going for more Turkey.....might need 770 to haul my butt around after Christmas🤣 Paul
  5. Merry Christmas to all from Ireland.Lets do it all again next year..... Paul
  6. Must be all over the world... Paul
  7. Many years ago if you got a set of new Michelin tyres you got a Michelin man for your truck. It was an advertising stunt...Soon if you didnt have one on your truck you were a nobody. They began selling them.It was one of those stunts that really took off. They are still sought after for vintage truck restoration. They can still be bought but the newer ones are much smaller.Thats the story here in Ireland...Never cared for them myself but if its your truck you put what you like on it..... Paul
  8. It is very very sad that these people are among us.People out enjoying the Christmas vibe to be killed and injured in this manner is disgusting and this act must be condemned in the strongest possible way.I dont know guys, why cant we all just get along??? Paul
  9. Hi all,Today my wife and I had the privilege and honour of delivering the big man himself,Santa, to a local school for a few hundred very excited children in a very exclusive mode of transport.Santa said he never travelled in such style before and he might retire the reindeer and travel only in a Mack from now on as the Cruiseliner is more comfortable and reliable than the reindeer..It was a magical journey and the excitement on the childrens faces made it all worthwhile. My wife Linda, son Daniel, daughter in law Aldrith, daughter Emma and myself would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas.....
  10. Still looks great after you hae worked it a bit...good luck with it.. Paul
  11. I switched from coal to oil 30years ago but kept the coal fire.I light it now and again but ALWAYS on Christmas day...adds to the Christmas feeling me thinks.... Paul
  12. Thanks to both of you for replying.would you beleve I just got both Baldwin filters but have not had a chance to fit one yet. After a lot of enquiries I found a parts store just 22 miles from me that knew where to get the filters. The only difference is one filter is 5/8 thred and the other is 11/16.....so I had to buy both....still from now on I'll know which one to order and where to get it.Thanks again guys.... Paul
  13. Oh and the music was top notch too.. Paul
  14. Oh how I miss the 80s too.Best trucks, plain good food ,great chics and cold beer was cheap!!!!! Paul
  15. Welcome to the group.Yes please do keep us informed about the progress of your Mack.I cant help identify the parts but Im sure there are some here who will be able to help you.the first part looks like an engine governer to limit RPM.but not 100% sure.the second looks to be a brake servo of some type.Anyway the guys here will sort it im sure.I see your in Poland,im in Ireland. There us a guy in Holland who got me parts for our Mack.Best of luck with it.. Paul
  16. Fair play paul I knew we could get the real reason for all this from you in a practical and humourous way....understated as always🤣🤣🤣
  17. Ha ha...we drive on the "wrong" side of the road over here too🤣.... Paul
  18. Real nice... Paul
  19. Probably for the dusty outback roads id say but im sure mrs mack could tell us more... Paul
  20. Wow what a find...gotta be saved.Id love to have a project like that on the slow burner...something to fill in the quiet times.... Paul
  21. All about the money...same the world over Paul
  22. Thats a great parts store, wish id one like it near me.The EU in their wisdom have outlawed such places.scrap yards are now just that.. once a vehicle enters its broken into recycleable parts and sent to recovery places where every part is melted down into its raw state and then made into something else...no vintage parts for the likes of us... Paul
  23. Temp in C not F.pressure(oil and air)in hpa not psi....metric in other words🥶...Im only guessing because i seen a canadian Kenworth and GMC which had the metric clocks. Our Cruiseliner has them too... Paul
