Fine on anything but a bus. It's done all the time. Floats on the front of trash trucks are really common. And I don't know about now but UPS used to run them on steering axles all the time. People say "Illegal" all the time over truck driver's tall tales. They all used to say frame welding is Illegal. They say straightening or welding an axle housing is illegal. If you challenge them on it they claim the welds all have to be done by a "Certified Welder". If you ask them "Certified by WHO??" they can't tell you. That is because there is no certification required to weld truck frames. "CERTIFIED" is mostly a salesdouches buzz word. Like "Certified Pre Owned" -

Yeah it's pretty good. I read it 30 some years ago, I should probably read it again “They're trying to kill me," Yossarian told him calmly. No one's trying to kill you," Clevinger cried. Then why are they shooting at me?" Yossarian asked. They're shooting at everyone," Clevinger answered. "They're trying to kill everyone." And what difference does that make?”

Yeah I just wonder how much money Bill Gates and the Chinamen are getting for not growing alfalfa

“Major Major's father was a sober God-fearing man whose idea of a good joke was to lie about his age. He was a long-limbed farmer, a God-fearing, freedom-loving, law-abiding rugged individualist who held that federal aid to anyone but farmers was creeping socialism. He advocated thrift and hard work and disapproved of loose women who turned him down. His specialty was alfalfa, and he made a good thing out of not growing any. The government paid him well for every bushel of alfalfa he did not grow. The more alfalfa he did not grow, the more money the government gave him, and he spent every penny he didn't earn on new land to increase the amount of alfalfa he did not produce. Major Major's father worked without rest at not growing alfalfa. On long winter evenings he remained indoors and did not mend harness, and he sprang out of bed at the crack of noon every day just to make certain that the chores would not be done. He invested in land wisely and soon was not growing more alfalfa than any other man in the county. Neighbors sought him out for advice on all subjects, for he had made much money and was therefore wise. “As ye sow, so shall ye reap,” he counseled one and all, and everyone said, “Amen.” ― Joseph Heller, Catch-22 I disapprove of those kind of loose women too

Tires getting crazy expensive. We're going to have to go back to using these. Although I never liked the pistol grip style. The old cross handle type was much better to use. But apparently they no longer make them. Seems funny because all the old time tire guys that regrooved a lot only used the cross bar handle type -

I'm not sure if they are still running steam excursions or not. I don't even know who owns it now. From their website it looks like they run a lot of themed excursions https://www.newhoperailroad.com/ -
I know it's a different place, like 300 miles away, but every time I hear "Cumberland" I think of this song Maybe I just like the "Exotic Ladies" LMAO

Back in the 80's when I worked for McHugh Brothers Crane Rentals they owned a bunch of short lines including the New Hope & Ivyland. They ran steam excursions on it. They had lots of cool old stuff. https://youtu.be/f5H9Hi4rdhI?si=2wZnyGHYqjY-CTj- -
That's plenty of school. You figure that's like 8th grade. Most people you meet working in offices are really no more educated than that. They struggle to get through any Classic American Literature. You figure stuff like Upton Sinclair, John Steinbeck, JD Salinger, Ayn Rand etc. are all ATOS levels between 7 and 9. That is about where you should be in 8th grade. I figure we are paying a premium price for 12 years of education, but only getting 6th grade results. At least those Pakistani kids are learning valuable skills
