  1. As one of this countries minorities...a Christan , White , Working man.......voting is going to be difficult but the choices have to be made. I personally don't trust any politition from dog catcher to president. I would like to see term limits, no benifits for life after one term and if they screw up they pay for it. AHH one can dream.......... Paul

  2. "why are you people always think bad ... how can be a President b wrong for his country... definitely he had thought some thing good ... he will definitely do some thing for truckers......."

    Well here is his help!!!!!

And now we are going to have this. It was in our "glorious health care bill"

    IRS 1099

What is the new paperwork mandate?

Small business form 1099-MISC and its reporting requirements. The newly expanded reporting mandate, however, takes the current burden to new and unthinkable levels!

Section 9006 of the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" (Public Law No. 111-148) mandates that small business owners file a 1099-MISC with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for payments made to vendors totaling $600 or more in a tax year. That's right every business transaction totaling $600 or more on an annual basis will now require a 1099. Get ready to track down all those TINs (Taxpayer Identification Numbers)! In turn, small business owners will receive a 1099 from each business that they sold goods or services totaling $600 or more (includes Fuel, parts, repairs. rental cars, motel / hotel rooms and more), which will be used to report such income on their annual tax return.

Section 9006 of the new health care law has nothing to do with health reform, affordability or quality coverage. It was inserted into the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" as a way to pay for the massive health care bill. However, there is no clear research or data to substantiate the degree to which expanded 1099 reporting will close the so-called "tax gap." And no one really understands how the federal government will deal with the millions upon millions of 1099 forms that will flood IRS offices!

The effects of this burdensome new paperwork mandate on small businesses are quite clear. New headaches, more costs, more time and manpower -- and for what?

The expanded 1099-MISC requirement will be a nightmare for small businesses. As the SBA Office of Advocacy has consistently found in its research, small firms are disproportionately impacted by federal regulation - and in the case of tax compliance, these costs are 67 percent higher for small firms than for larger businesses.

But for larger businesses, administrative costs and burdens will be staggering as well. Imagine all the 1099s office supply stores will receive from small business owners. Imagine the back-office policies, procedures and new staff they will need to accurately capture and store data from these tens-of-thousands, if not millions, of forms. Do you think their costs will increase? Will our supply prices go higher? Now, imagine the economy-wide impact! What about the potential errors in typing or transcribing nine-number TINS?

    Dump them all !!!

If she has tatoos you get 3 important things to a good life from her......Shade in the summer, heat in the winter and moving pictures all year long.

  5. Its about damn time somebody stood up to this "problem"! my hats off to arizona, and i agree more states should follow suit! illegal immigrants are bleeding this country dry, whatever happened to immigrating to this country legally? my ancestors did so,and are proud of that fact.....of course they did'nt come here hat in hand expecting a "free ride" they WORKED ,LEARNED THE LANGUAGE, PAID TAXES, DID NOT BRING CRIME/DRUGS into the country! and yet the people profiled in this news story feel they have the "right" to be here, holy shit! what is wrong with this picure!?..........goodbye and good riddance! dont't let the door hit you in the ass on the way back to mexico!..................Mark

AMEN!! and take the "C in C" with you

  6. Thank you both for your answers, The oil is Detergent with a Zinc Additive for Cam wear. It goes along with my gut feelings. The AC Delco filter kit was made for the Mack and a few other truck engines of the 30's / 40's. I modified the mouting bracket to move the filter to a more "hidden spot", the lines I remade with Aeroquip hoses and lengthened. The filter will pick up about 85 / 90%+ of contaminants. Paul

  7. I've finally gotten all the machine work done on my AC engine and am staring to assemble it. The in question I have is oil. I've a 30's AC canister oil filter unit, made the bracket and line up.My question is do I use non detergent oil or since the engine is fresh and now has an oil filter can I use detergent oil? The shop that did the machine work gave me a blank look when I asked. Paul

  8. I have used Pertronix aftermarket ignition conversions sucessfully in Studebakers and older Oldsmobiles.

The Studes had either Delco Remy, Autolite or Prestolite ignitions.

You might send them an email through their website with the type of distributor you have.

Peretronix is a good convercion unit,I've converted both my '41 Chevy 3/4 ton and my '63 Corvan to it with no problems.., One 6 volt and the other 12 volt. Paul

  9. I have seen the B-model in just about every configuration possible (i thought) but here is a new one on me! seems this one is used to transport/ fire a "human cannonball" at the circus and state fair type events...........Mark

Now can we get the White House to use as their transportation or the " south of the border people '? :thumb:

  10. what I think is funny is I cant find one person who will come out and say... "I voted for him"

Jeez we got a ton of them here. (course once here they aren't smart enough to realize that theres only one way off the island!!)....all proud as peacocks on the fine job he's doing.

  11. A lot of trucks used to run 29 to Danville,58 to South Boston, then 360 to Richmond out of the Carolinas for that very reason, instead of I-85 to I-95. Branch trucks always ran 360.

If you take 360 from South Boston up to Wylliesburg, turn on rt. 15 south towards Clarksville-right across from the Tastee-Freez- and McGuire is about a mile or so on the left. Never seen any old Macks sitting around, but i've never stopped to look either.

By the way, i'm taking my vacation the first week of August. Hope to go to Lincolnton,N.C. to the ATHS show July 31. Nocluejoe might go too. He came up here and stayed a couple of days last summer. Not sure of his plans this year.

Our family homestead is just before the VMA in Fork Union off of 15, Down the road in Kents Store is a farm with about 12 or 15 1940's / 50's Macks. None are too bad shape either. The gentleman hasn't decided which he wants to part with yet. I'll get some photos when I,m down there gain. Paul

  12. Ain't it great to have democratically elected lawmakers to represent us?

Hope you all remember very well in future elections.

Here comes more of the "change" elected.

    Rob

Well at least I know my furture is secure......I got a warm feeling knowing I'll never be able to retire because of these "changes" I'll remember in November though. Paul

  13. I can't say I've ever seen bolt together rims on an on highway truck. I have seen them on industrial equipment and off road trucks such as mine equipment. I have seen the type the centers were riveted into place on an old style budd wheel.

The two piece split rims are perfectly safe if assembled correctly, by knowlegable people. It's the three piece ones that are prone to coming apart as they are inflated. The three piece rims are getting hard to get serviced by tire shops any longer. The two piece type which have been around for many years are no problem. They are easy to tell apart as the three piece rims have the main rim, an outside ring, then a thin locker ring that locks the two others together. The two piece rim has just that, two pieces. Also the three piece rims use a rubber seal so there are actually four pieces to it..

    Rob

My White had the bolt together rims (coure it spent it's life hauling trailers full of L.I. potatos to N.Y.C.)and was given advice from a few older tire guys to dump them. Guess I got some so so advice. Paul

  14. Thanks Rob & Paul.

First question asked, first I do not know! So, 0 for 1.

Paul, will check. Is this something to look for / value / avoid / replace / or just curious?

Rim questions are new for me.

AVOID. The one piece split rims that bolt together as extremly dangerious. The bolt fails and the rim comes apart...generally at speed. Best advice is to replace them with the 3 piece split rims and cut the old one pieces up. Paul

  15. Electronic is the way to go.You'll find easier starting and smoother running with the electronic ignition over points system. Mopar points will fail rapidly if your ballest resister is failing. They will burn the points before they fail. We always carried an extra ballest resistor with Mother Mopars. I would go for one of 2 set ups,Mopar electronic kit or the Perlux electronic points elimator kit. Paul
