Yup FJH, your more of a guru then you think, I’d like to see fuel pressure number and the turbo actuator code should be considered.

A lot of the plastic pieces on these trucks comes back to the government again. Every year manufactures need to find ways to shave weight to appease the governments fuel economy standards. However arnt plastics made from petroleum products? 🤔

we would all be happier with driving steel dash R models ,,,but were all stuck in slope nose plastic junk that wont stay running...bob
Sure would, but that’s your government, not the manufactures fault…Just be happy your still able to drive a truck with an “engine” and not a “motor” or else this thread wouldn’t even exist.

I also believe that they moved the fuel pickup and return to the mid tank location for that reason also! When this setup came out on the top mounted in and out there was a lot of grief with it!
just my opinion
Yea they did move it to there.

Called hub pilot wheels. Your stud pilot wheels have been a thing of the past for long time. Thank god

The return flow splitter was to eliminate the crossover line between the fuel tanks in over the road vehicles. It is intended to equally divide the returned fuel from the engine into two streams. One of which would be routed to each fuel tank The object of dividing the returning fuel is to maintain equal fuel levels in both fuel tanks.

DEF is basically mostly water. It's like 32.5% urea (or something like that)
Yea that’s true

That’s a really nice boat! Cabin Cruiser, id like to get one someday. I guess the steerable props make that thing super easy to maneuver. I love the water and dock life. I completely understand about just staying on the boat and never leaving the dock haha. Music, grilling, beers, etc. usually other people do the same all around at their slips too so it can become a big party. Sometimes walking distance to the bars too. Good for you man I guess you guys can wait for May or June.

Thanks for posting that, I’m out of likes for today haha. Crazy how much havoc that shit can cause. I always thought that once it made it into the tank it was essentially a whole fuel system replacement. Didn’t know def settled in fuel like that either. Have you had to do one of these jobs before? Must take a long time to do.

I hear ya. It’s the last thing you want to do. It’s typically how it goes. My time is worth more than money I guess. Your boat sounds like a quick one. What is it? Where are you from if you don’t mind me asking?

I wonder if they put them in their machinery too?

I keep forgetting that they actually put the D12 ( and possibly D11/D13 ) engines in boats. The marina I keep my boat at has Carver yacht with twin D12’s in it. The owner talked to me about hooking my laptop up to it .
Yea it seems the tools for these engines on the marina side have much better pricing. Maybe you can get some side work within reason and get a free boat slip haha. Wow twin d12s in a boat sounds like some serious power. I couldn’t imagine working on these engines in a boat. They pry have to come out to do any legit work on them.

For the cost of the job at the dealership you pry will have bought the tool. Just something to think about. You can’t get out of there for under 300 dollars.

Man thats some serious rot, I believe those trucks were notorious for serious frame rust issues. Alot of people love those trucks and swear by them. The older ones like this one anyway.
-
I’ll have to check that out.

Well I guess I should say before Volvo really started to get their hands on it.
-
Those two piece tanks are stupid! There was “Volvo” parts and ideas on these trucks before Volvo also FJH! Haha

Very true, and that’s if you can log in! If you do get it make sure you log in once a month regardless if you need to. If they don’t see activity for a certain amount of time they will lock you out. Then you have to call them and have them reset with new password. That’s a real treat….Not sure why they care they got their money.
