Might wanna decide to put the hood on before the fenders. have put quite a few B models together and it is always easier this way and avoids a lot of scratches and bad words. ~Matt
Work from the top down. Good advice, Matt.

Aha, a weakness. Now we'll know when he's, er, pre-occupied and the trucks can be rescued...
-
Love your work, AJ.
The only prob I find with taking pics of things so I don't forget how they came apart is I sometimes forget to take pics in the first place!

That's Bill Donnely from out west. I remember when he did the paint job on the truck. He has a red single axle KW for sale also. He got the KW from John Evans from Arizona(?), used to a big poster on ATHS also. Had a big tadu and got mad and left.
I wonder if Bill had health issues and is selling everything? Seems he fell a coule years ago? something like that? Maybe he's not mobile enough anymore.
That's where I've seen it before. Have got a profile pic of it (somewhere in the depths of the computer) parked in a driveway ... probably the same driveway.
I was more keen on the Es in The Back Lot. I see Packer's EG there but have always wanted to see more pics of the red one listed.

Bastards.
Did the tapes reveal anything, John?

Wow, wow, wow.
Jim, I've been going back reading your threads about the B but the engine pic takes the cake. Haven't seen a nicer job.
-
Wow, great find there, Sam. Reckon the Mack Museum guys would get excited by that.
Sounds like they just butted up another back end off something else and just welded it all together.
-
Phenomenal work there, Jim. She looks awesome. Well done!
Inspirational stuff.

Looks like you're right into it, mate. Good luck. Seeing the condition of the ACs and the work you're doing on them gives me some inspiration for some E-models I'm trying not to get too excited about. Can do anything if you set your mind to it and keep your patience and an open mind!

Great find, mate, but sad to know the trucks will probably rot where they sit.
'Collectors' like that seem to be all over the world. Plenty like that down here too. To some extent good on them for svaing what they do but ... no sense of fun. LOL.

Hi guys
Well, it's been more than a year since I was last here and things have been happening. After being out of work for just over a year, I started in a new job at the start of March and it has turned out to be the best job I've ever had. I've been slowly getting back into trucks and am currently on the trail of some Mack Es down here. They'll be a lot of work but ... have to get them first. Have yet to even see photos. Very early days and may amount to nothing so... Had a major disappointment with a very derelict one early this year when I found out, the day before heading into the bush to check it out, that it had gone. Therefore, trying not to get too excited but with E Models it's a bit hard!
I also found a stunningly original EGR1D not far from here. A magic, magic machine. Have attached a pic below.
I would like to thank you all for keeping the E Model registry thread going. There's some awesome trucks being recorded and I will get them onto the registry in the next couple of weeks (end of month and end of year coming up for work ... yikes!).
To those of you who have posted details of your trucks, I will get in touch with you individually over the next month or so. Feel free to email me at aircrewbooksATiinet.net.au (replacing the AT with @ of course).
Merry Christmas E model lovers and Mack fans in general!
Cheers

Do you have any photos so we can see what you're looking at? Close to home is an advantage and perhaps it's a good thing the engine is stuck given what Rob says about spares availability.
-
Congrats, Engine 2, she looks a beaut. I've added her to the E-model register per your post up there. All the best with the resto.
Cheers

Well, as you can see from my signature, we're now on 55 Es for the registry. Thanks again to those who have contacted me with details and to see how the registry is going. I've just updated the listing from the latest posts above and we had some interesting new entries. The ED Tracy and Kevin posted above is the first ED on the registry and Engine 2's Type 45 is the youngest Type 45 on the register. The Tryon FB Type 50S supplied by Ray is also the first Type 50 on the register. How it differs from a 505S I have yet to work out.
I am now working on a formal pdf document for the register which will be a similar format to the B-model register. This will be emailed to all owners on the register and made available here and elsewhere. If you know you're on the list but are not sure if you've supplied your email, please drop me a line at aircrewbooksATiinet.net.au (replacing the AT with @).
I hope to add another E to the list personally on Monday. Fingers crossed.

Hi guys
Hopefully off to check out a rather rough E in a few days. Found out about her last night and, although rough, the photos show her to be dry. Am trying not to get too excited as we don't know if she's still there.
Anyway, besides the chassis number, what other numbers/stampings should I be looking for to help ID her (if I can't find the chassis number)? Despite my love for Es, their relative scarcity down here means I can count how many I've seen on one hand (and not use all fingers!). I've never had a chance to crawl over one. Are there numbers stamped on the diff?
As always, I welcome any advice.

Hi guys
We've just moved house again so I'm catching up again. Need to get the register finished from a presentation point of view. Should have that done shortly as we now have well over 50 E-models listed.
I'll be in touch with the new entries shortly (Engine2 etc).
Cheers

Hi all
I'm afraid I disappeared again. Sorry about that. Lost my job in February and there's been a few changes here. We're moving house interstate shortly. Fortunately, it's a better scenario for us workwise and the town is in the middle of E-model land when it comes to Mack Es downunder. Hoping I can find one for myself at last.
How'd you go, Speed?
Tracy and Kevin, many thanks for those details.

She looks the business, Baz, as I've said already. Sounds like you need a trip to the NT to hunt some info down...
Hey Dave, I can put you in touch with a Flintstone fan you've probably already come across in Dubbo. I suspect he'll have some chassis numbers of local F'stones.
-
Welcome John and thanks for the listing. I take it you're the owner?
Am going through a bit of upheaval at present but I'll let you know when I've added the truck to the registry.
-
Thanks Ray, email on the way.
Speed, any luck with saving bits of that bus? Never heard of an E bus before.
-
Thanks Jeffro, I thought the C motor only went into R-models but I'm probably remembering that wrong. Having said that, my B61T had a C motor but it was not the original power for her.
-
Thanks Mike, didn't know that. Any of yours have the White motor?
-
T is single-axle tractor
X is heavy duty specs
The numbers after 61 mean something as well. From memory, 3 in 613 is optional engine (?) and 5 in 615 is for V8.

Good to see you here, Baz and good to know my endless dribble about Macks finally wore you down. However, I suspect, given your history with Flintstones etc, it wasn't needed!
Looking forward to following the resto of the 700.

Wow. I reckon that will go for a pretty penny but then you'd expect to for quality.
