Congratulations, mate, on saving the old B. Really great to see someone so young (well, half my age, LOL) getting into old Macks. Sounds like you're enjoying yourself and learning a lot. She's obviously a patient truck so don't blow all your $ at once!

Sounds like you covered some ground. Did you see any of our Bs?
-
Bob, yep, I'm in Australia. Where did you visit?
-
Bob, is that your truck in your Avatar? I've a big soft spot for dumpers!
Was going to say check radiator if you were planning on running her for an extended period but saw you were pressurising and checking for leaks so I'll just shut up!
Good luck with it, let us know how it goes.

Any rumours on who bought it?
-
Bloody nice dump truck. Looks the business.
-
Wow would be an understatement.
I think I just caught a glimpse of heaven!
-
Mine lives five minutes drive away!
-
Wish I could find that in a field!

Given the Watt's blood that flows through your veins, Barry, I wouldn't have been surprised if you said you were the kid in the photo! I'm with Speed, a similar pic would be awesome.

Thanks to Mike and Brent (Livinlo) for the latest two additions to the registry, an EH1D and the first EF1S for the registry. If you haven't already, check out the great EF pics on Livinlo's gallery.
Cheers

Welcome Justin and Happy New Year.

If someone is looking for a E Model there was one advertised in TNT Magazine 23Nov. 07 issue page68 it is a 1947 Mack EHX with dump $7500.00 or Best offer.Phone # 609- 298-0841.New Jersey. Was garage kept Looks good in picture but a bit pricy.
Sounds like an EHX that was on Ebay early this year. I drooled over it as she looked pretty straight but scruffy but...wrong side of the world and all that...
Congrats on another E, Garth, looking forward to hearing more about it.
Speed, thanks for keeping interest in the registry ticking over. I haven't had any new entries for a while. I'm thinking of reviewing my Show Times from ATHS and writing to the owners listed. Also had one of my Australian readers contact me asking to subscribe and he said he had a Type 75 and a military E...along with about 20 other trucks!
This year hasn't been great for tracking down Es as I haven't had the time but with the e-magazine picking up, I'm hoping to get the feelers out there some more.

Nice work, Paul. Looking forward to more pics!
I don't hunt Glenn, but I wouldn't mind a hunting wagon like yours!

Hi mate, I think there'd be a few peopl here who'd like to see pics of her. Have you passed her ID to Tom Gannaway (Fuzzy Buzzard)?
-
Dealers are still separate down here. Lots of Titans etc getting about but there'll always be lots of Volvos down here as well. Still great to see Rs every day getting around getting dirty.

Hardly need a siren!

Welcome Pascal. Do you come across many old Macks in France? I have a soft spot for Berliets but then any old truck is a good truck!
-
Thad, sorry to hear about your friend.
Hope the engine work goes well. A 673 is always a good thing to have! Back in November, a mate and me were in Melbourne at a friend's timber yard. Barry had noticed the rad fan vibrating on the B615 and since Gav was taking it a show the next day, we thought it prudent to replace it/bearings (I held the tools). We scavenged bits off two other V8s Gavin just happened to have lying around! As we were leaving, his latest acquisition, another 615, turned up! Amazing and always good to have engines handy!
-
Yep, what Terry said. It'd be on the driver's side if it was an Australian B cos our steering wheel is on the right!
-
LOL on that last point OD!
I miss the sound of an air start. Used to drive trucks with that system and my Mack had that set up as well.
Re your comment about GM 2-strokes. Not many heard on the road here in West Oz but went over to a show in Melbourne in November last year and they were everywhere in older working trucks and restored ones! There was even a F100 with one shoe horned in! It was heaven!

G'day Gus, welcome!
I disappeared for a while but it's good to see some familiar names here. All good people so you'll have fun here.
Good luck with the B.

MMM, a diff housing number or engine number might be of use if you ring the Mack Museum with those. They should be able to ID it or give you a ballpark from them.
