  1. My trip home with Jess was uneventful other than the last 1.5 hours being done in the dark with one headlight shining up into the trees. Reached a mate's place to stay the night and was turning around on his paddock when she stalled. Started her up again, put her in gear but she wouldn't move. Shut her down for the night with thoughts of broken bits to look forward to in the morning. Discovered the next morning that she was just slipping on the wet grass! Got some great fog bound shots that morning too!

  2. Thanks Diamond T man, that's great. I've fired a pm at ya.

Sorry I disappeared for a while there. Been busy at work and at home (Bedford still neglected) so have kept my head down as forums can be, as Speed says, time vacuums! However, I'm back into it. Got a promotion here at work but am still waiting for the pay rise. LOL.

The E registry hasn't moved since I last posted on here but it's still current, alive, active and yearning for more entries!

    "New" BMT looks bloody sensational!

  3. I belive its called a cool power (aussi spec)I think based off a 2VALVE 285hp tip turbine?

sad to see it get rolled but that truck was tuff as nails to survive those crashes.

From memory, that's what she had. Not sure if she's still around but it is possible.

  4. Hi WJ

In Australia it is most likely what you have is a fire truck variant of an E model Mack. I would lean towards a Type 75 but it could also be a Type 45. If you find the chassis number, it should start with a 45 or a 75. If it turns out to be one of these, you can also register it on the E-model registry that I set up recently!

Looking forward to some pics. Very exciting to hear of another one in Australia.

I'm in Perth, where are you?

    Cheers

  5. There's nothing on the net yet, mate, and there won't be until I have a decent number of entries (50) to make it worthwhile.

I reckon the guys who have contacted you have done so through here or have picked your address out of the several E-group emails I have sent to those who are on the registry. But that's what BMT and the registry are all about - bringing Mack people together.

    Cheers

  6. what i thought was cool about that truck is that it was right hand drive...and what was even cooler something all R models should have come with dual air breathers!!!!

    :clock_logo:

Pretty standard down here mate...especially the RHD! LOL. :P

  7. James

I'm planning on writing to the Mack Museum to get details of the how the Es were built, what chassis numbers were built when etc. I need to have that type of basic info available so that I can help those that ask me. I am far from being a E expert and there are heaps of people on here and at ATHS that will always know more than me! LOL.

Now, from memory (what I read in the Iconografix books) the 1 in your EH1S refers to one drive axle. However, I forget what the S is for and it could even mean two drive axles so...

Sorry I'm not of more help, some registry administrator I am! I'll get there. I reckon one of the guys on here will answer your question before I check the books at home tonight so you won't have to wait long.

    Cheers

  8. Speed

All I need to enter you on the register is the chassis number of the truck and your name, address (town and state are fine) and any other contact details you may want to add.

The reason? What can be a better reason for letting the world know you own an E?! Just doing it as a historical record of preserved/surviving Es and hoping to help bring owners together. Plus you get the occassional email from me filled with something E-related (E News in more way than one!). Just something else to spread the love for old Macks.

You'll be entry 36 on the registry if you decide to list. At about 50 entries, the first published E registry will be made available in pdf format.

    Cheers

  9. Speed, sorry to hear the deal fell through. Good luck with your continuing hunt. I wish Es were as easy to find down here as they appear to be up there.

David, I will send something up to you anyway mate, but do you seriously want some Foster's? It's shocking stuff! :pat: Postage ofr a loose woman might be a bit steep and Australia Post frowns on flammable products so the cigars are off (do you insure yours for fire...). I'll think of something!

  10. Hi David

Happy New Year, mate. I did receive the manual thank you just before Christmas. We then were away till after New Year's and I only re-discovered it last night! I looked at it and went, Oh #%&* I haven't thanked David for that yet! Past six weeks has been full on and I'm back full-time at work so everything has stopped which is why I haven't been on here at all! Tim Maikshilo sent me an email as well and I haven't had the chance to reply for a chat yet (sorry Tim!).

Sorry, mate. Thank you, I can learn a heck of a lot from what you sent me. The license plate is very cool too, it'll go up with the other metal signs I have around the place.

Saw a magnificently original EH when I was in Melboorne in late November. Had a huge Mack brass plaque on the fuel tank. This truck was my first non-Type 75 E!

Cheers and thanks again. What can I send you?

    Andy
