  2. I guess I am going back to my question about the 'dogs'.. they keep the intermediate pressure plate in position. You said the flywheel was machined but not completely due to the 'dogs' is what I understood.. so they cut the fly wheel with the 'dogs' in place? or with them out? I wish WE could be there to see this mess you have.. jojo

  4. Paul has a good point... I too, have had to pull a clutch for a customer who put the clutch in, but did not have the flywheel 'machined'... the flywheel will have deeper wear towards the middle and the outer circumference of the flywheel will be higher, which will grab the outer edge of the clutch disc.

  7. so It was converted??? I did a flywheel conversion on a couple E-6 Super Dogs last year and the year before. Went to a 15 1/2'' easy pedal clutch on both..

  9. I assume the ''Dogs'' in the flywheel were positioned correctly, with the little tool that lines them up..
  10. I have worked on many trucks with messed up clutch adjustments and sloppy linkages and so on.. The ones that weren't totally broken, were still drivable, if only into the shop.. This is one, were, I wish I was there to see the issue happen.. With the info we have, I am leaning towards improper clutch parts and/or installation..
  11. im sorry about my slow understanding.. I think you say when its in gear and you start it, with clutch pedal pushed it is still in gear? sorry bud, but that sounds like the clutch discs are installed wrong.. Maybe mechohaulic will see this and bring the light..
  12. does it act 'a-fool' in neutral? Im a little bit lost.. if the clutch fork is pulling the throw out bearing, then you should be able to start the engine with ease... sorry Bud,, i'm not adding this up very well..
  13. Can you put it in Low gear and start it, then drive it to see if it will break free? You did say the clutch discs are in correctly.. can you get under there and look at the clutch fork movement with some one pushing/pumping the clutch? (engine Off)...
  14. well, at least with the 13 spd. you can get up to about 60+ MPH.. Is it a dump truck or roll off, ?? tractor??
  15. Sorry Bud... Thats all I got... if the engine would run above 1400,on up to gov. speed I would say install starter button until you find the issue.. I had a deleted MP-7 that gave trouble in many ways, and the ignition didnt start the truck. I put a starter button in it and it worked fine. It was a homemade dump truck that a crop farmer had.. his was a manual trans. though.. I wish I could help.. Jojo
  16. Pull fuse 71 out of the EPDM and see what happens.. that is the Allison fuse.. can you jump the little relay on the starter to turn it over?

  19. if you unplug it,,, what happens?? also, have you checked the wires going into the cab for cracks and chaffing?
  20. Do the headlight wires run behind the oil filters? If so, check there, especially at the wire clamps bolted to the engine.
  21. It makes for a smooth rotation in the joint. If ujoints are straight on,, the bearings won't rotate, and that will cause Brinelling...
  22. I always suggest checking the Duetch plug at the injection pump. Those pins can come loose in side.. also check for bad wires on the truck side of the harness..
  23. when you get it apart you can bench test it. look closely at the sliding clutch and clutching teeth on the outer cam drum also.. you dont need to use high air pressure to actuate the shift fork and clutch, it can fly out..
