  1. hope we get to see total picture of your lifting system! over head crane seems to be an understatement. if you are going to reinstall those heads based on picture, my recommendation is to pull ALL the studs first. or make dam sure those head stud holes are spotless. during the jiggle=jaggle of the heads being lowered ANY grit/crap in those holes reaches those new head gaskets from those studs scraping bore before the heads seat in place. also the studs are supposed to be brought snug then backed off a tad. I used from toolbox set of wire wheeled /clean studs for such operations. which were removed once all engine studs were in place .
  2. got picture this time . I'd say it's a go. those look heavier duty . has to be an update/change-over since my flintstone days.
  3. question is ::: are all rods the same ==intake /exhaust ?? does it have the dynatard brake which back in the day changed over to solid on exhaust ??
  4. your not alone; I tried ;; went to a G mail sign in something.
  5. posted 3 years ago; sure hope he figured it out by now.
  6. enjoyed the video ; R-700 western a definite positive for me. many years back during the ride to work at Mack I past a R-700 western in a company yard. stopped numerous times to inspect.
  7. Hey ; what's this "it's old take a chance" ;; now i feel offended. LOL . it's NOT old ; it's mature . I'm a two valve ; new valves in "15 still tickin. LOL
  8. real nice piece of inventory. cranes and road graders always had my vote. looks to be a CCC cab. best of luck . brake system definitely a first priority. customer owed me some $$$$ ' took his mobile crane instead to assemble my 30X50 shop. fun build.
  9. It's so unusual and ugly(in a positive way ) ;; makes it reals sharp looking . color/ design fantastic. there could be 100 B-61's at a show ; no matter what they would look like this one truck will stand out. keep on truckin .
  10. ideas are endless ; it all comes down to what You prefer. talked to Rocky today ; he had nothing but positive and praise for You. the '73 will be great/ wonderful/positive and so much more no matter what,
  11. brilliant idea of viewing options by computer renditions first. also agree with thoughts of not wanting the firetruck look. that's like the mona lisa having a twin sister! the B 73 is in a class of it's own. lookin great
  12. the adapter/reverser has a number of functions depending on application. one pictured is angled indicating possibly a clearance situation . a single gear spacer/reverser is just that used to reverse rotation of shaft/pump etc. did a PTO install on a RR due to transmission pto gear in to far a single gear spacer was needed. in the process the pto changed direction. fortunately the fix was easier. being the pto was going to run a roper pump for fuel oil; disassembly of the roper and flipping top to bottom did it. question is;; when the pto was connected directly to transmission . was the hyd pump also installed?? not hearing the winning sound ; could the noise have been the hyd pump trying to run backwards or was noise definitely gear mesh?? gear mesh then was the gap between two gears correct ? could more shims correct it ??? not being familiar with these new age numbers; is this transmission capable of a rear mount PTO??
  13. mounting the P T O without an adapter will put PTO in opposite rotation ; don't know if that makes a difference.
  14. 318 power , it be a Mack with a twin stack on the back. did have a nice sound.
  15. sad part is even at his new "job" the American people will be paying for his lifetime secret service protection.
  16. by chance does anyone have the 1/25 scale Mack cruise liner cab over model? Ryder logo ..looking for some parts from it ;don't need whole kit. unless yours is complete . I have one from '81 still in ceran wrap. don't want to open it , just bought a IH 4070A kit only to find out parts needed won't work. will try hobby lobby figured maybe time to break off the trump ear topic . get back to trucks. scale models is a small start.
  17. farm tractors sold for more then the Macks. most prices very low. then add auctioneers fee/ moving/shipping. still lot of good parts. to only be 40 yrs younger. but then I might still have my two Mack E models. had/lost bid for auction in MA which had box of old books; one being manual for Mack AC and old Cummins book
  18. don't suppose there's a reason the waiting period "for the truth" regarding the JFK assassination is 75 years. 14 yrs to go if I did the math right. does anyone care about it today!! heck no. some one came up and asked: hey wanta know the real story of Lincolns assassination ?" NO . the warren commission wrote "the real story " of the JFK murder back then supposably.
  19. I've got the 33 and 45. also it was '66 not 68. thanks for posting.
  20. as I've said on here before = Johhny Sea recording "Day for Decision " from '68 says it all. on youtube . almost a must to listen to and ponder.
  21. it's like '63 Kenndey/Oswald all over again. quess there is a positive to being old and short timer on this planet...sorry kids
  22. and I never thought I missed anything when "puppet man" repeated what he was told to say.
  23. funny to see those rotochambers- have rebuilt quite a few in the day. 6(?) bolts separate chamber from base; inside a large o-ring and wiper with spring =not a HD maxi spring. outer shell would develop a ring inside and leak. almost positive they aren't legal any more.
  24. one unit for sure which had the service/parking brake set up was an old martin lowbed a customer had. small 12 (1/4) in brake pads . set buttons and drop trailer; brakes were locked, using air to hold them. system lost air =trailer lost parking brake. it used to be dropped on blocks since there weren't any landing gear. driver in hurry backed under before hooking lines , trailer rolled away, which is why going for a CDL =requirement was to hook lines before truck went under trailer. old rule based on old system. many trailers rolled away if backed under first. I made a set of 3ft long with 4 in pipe with 3 in pipe inside having 3 sets of 2 in holes for pin to raise/ lower legs. and yes they bent those backing under at high speed .
  25. I'd agree with possible weak spring tension. either a slightly heavier spring at pump arm OR install secondary spring on fire wall connected to pedal/ firewall linkage . this is a floor mounted fuel pedal ??? how smooth moving is the pedal ? metal pin through alum add a touch of dirt making erratic operation?
