  1. She might have to settle for an F700 as that is currently the object of my pursuit. Gregg
  2. West-coaster... NICE! We don't see many of those on the east side. Sort of like Western F's huh, Doug?
  3. The old lead clamps seem to always need attention as they loosen and distort over time. Lead seems more prone to corrosion as well in my opinion.
  4. Polly already "loves me for what I am" so money can't turn my head, either. It would be cheaper to keep her, as long as she will put up with me & my trucks. I am a bit confused lately, though as Polly has actually been ENCOURAGING another truck purchase. What was that about underlying motives? Gregg
  5. If she is after my money, it would be in her best interest to help me win the lottery. Right now all I have is old trucks and empty pockets... Gregg
  6. I have heard of trouble converting from Daytons(spokes) to Budd wheels, but if you already have Budd hubs the wheels are all standard, regardless of truck make. The only difference is if you were to fit a flotation tire which uses a wider tire & wheel, but they are usually offset to clear the chassis. Standard highway wheels are 8.25" wide, you may be able to find 7.25" width to help. Of course this is all for the U.S.A., Down under I may be all wet! Gregg
  7. Threaded 3/8" top stud with ring ends on the cables. This is the standard setup on modern trucks for a reason. They are virtually trouble free with a good tight connection. No soft lead to bend or crack.
  8. I know the feeling... working full time leaves me with money but little time, if I stay home I have lots of time but no money. That nice gal at the local C-store always smiles at me, but she never gives me the winning lottery ticket. I think it's all over between us. Gregg
  9. IOWA80.com has a big selection of horns at good prices. Many styles and good folks to deal with too.
  10. I would pay just to see Rob's R-700's working. Gregg

  20. I still maintain my fightin' stance through all of it. I told Polly not to pay the bill for October... See how fast CUSTOMER SERVICE responds when they don't receive payment! Gregg
  21. It don't look any bigger than your average LARGE CAR.
  22. I don't know if anyone missed me or noticed I have been absent for the past month or so... We have been fighting with the phone company to have our internet service restored. It all started at the end of Sept. with a windstorm and a downed wire out on the pole. The first battle is to convince a CUSTOMER SERVICE rep that the DSL is indeed broken. Then try to plead your case to be moved up to priority status. Next is to get a SERVICE technician to actually show up at the designated appt. time to diagnose the problem. Finally after a month we are back up and running, but I notice Polly is not quite the same after the entire ordeal... Underdog couldn't help with this one. Gregg
  23. People would have more money if they didn't drink or smoke, either... We all have habits, some worse than others. I prefer to keep my trucks washed & waxed rather than let them rot and have to replace them every 5 years.
