  1. Believe i figured it out. Jake disable relay
  2. They will work sometimes, doesnt seem to matter if oil is hot or cold for the jake.
  3. Maybe check fuel supply pump. It has a plastic gear that will spin on shaft and cause truck to run bad or not at all.
  4. Has new clutch switch. What else to check that links these together?
  5. Thanks, i was able to get it off,but was concerned about the stress it may have put on the arms the drag link goes in by beating on stud w/nut on.
  6. Removed drag link on our 2008 cxu today but concerned of how i had to do it. Even using a pickle fork it would not budge and didn't want to use heat so i had to give it multiple whaps with the hammer. My concern is the stress it may have put on the arm off the steering box and arm off front wheel assembly. Everything is fine obviously(arms didn't break) just was curious if this is typical. Thanks
  7. Thanks. So I've read were cummins and the other ones use air to disengage the clutch, does mack do the same or does it take air to engage?
  8. Or im thinking it takes air to disengage it. There is air going to it but still runs
  9. 1995 cl w/427 air clutch stays engaged even when you take air from it.
  10. Throws active code mid128 sid27 fmi7. Erase code and comes right on again. Seems to run fine. Would this be a issue with wires going into actuator box or the single wire going into center of turbo?
  11. While turning steering wheel theres a slight catching feeling or tight spots in both directions. Replaced steering gear box and still same issue.
  12. cxu 613 mp-8 485 w/10 speeds. one has 415,000 the other 465,000. One has dpf mounted behind cab the other under passenger door. Any thoughts on these trucks with this milage and specs?
  13. After purchasing this truck new it had a vibration when getting up to speed. Macks answer was new shocks, cab and motor mounts. That took care of the vibration but our smooth ride seemed to go away with these new shocks. With about 200,000 on these shocks I'm planning on replacing them my question is what socks will the dealer give me off my vin. Was considering putting origanal part number shocks on to maybe get the smoother ride back but also hope the vibration doesn't come back. Last six of vin is 00269
  14. Not sure how true this is but some guys say they like high idle because it atomizes the fuel going in cylinders.
  15. When checking liner height im noticing were the fire ring set there's sort of a groove. The inner groove seems to be around 27 thousandths but when you move indicator back out towards block it drops to 13 thousandths before you get back on block. Any thoughts?
  16. Cross hatches in liners still look good. I do need to check liner height yet.
  17. Doing head gaskets on our 1995 427 (has inline injection pump). Anything I should look for or common things to change while this far apart. Pistons have some carbon buildup on them but not much. They also have a white residue carbon if that makes sense. Have done a lot of tractor and skid loader heads but this is first truck head. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks
  18. Thanks for the replys. It was actually loose line from filter into primer pump sucking air.
  19. DM mack will start and run but after awhile it starts fluttering and shuts off and won't start. Have fuel when I push primer, but didn't seem to have fuel while cranking engine with supply line off pump. Guessing I have a supply issue but mack dealer says there not available anymore. Anybody else have or had this issue?
  20. 4-2 code which is fan clutch output. I do not have air operated clutch. What should i start looking for. Thanks
  21. Pushing trans oil out trans breather?
  22. Ok thanks, I'll keep that in mind for next time.
  23. just changed our cool logic a few months ago and pulled the radiator to do it. Can it be done with out pulling radiator? and also can it be converted over to Horton clutch
