  3. $2214 for labor! I hope you got a big wet kiss. I overhaul Mack engines for less labor than this. Guess that's why this self employed truck mechanic has more work than he can do Hope you don't have any more bad luck and have to use this shop again, hell bring it down my way and I know we can do better!

  6. I have a 673 in a 72 model R600 that is turbo. Engine runs but has 2 lifters sticking in the block so the piston contacts the valves before they close. I'm in So. Arkansas, make me an offer.
  7. Bubba, I have one that is in excellent condition, even has the lid on it! I should have another from my truck because the rear cab wall was cut out to install the walk-in sleeper. Will look for it next day or two. I'm in So. Arkansas, make me an offer.
  8. I don't know about Jakes, but to install Dynatard you have to change the camshaft. I have a set of dynatard brakes for my EM6300 but the cam is junk. Dealer quote was over $600.
  9. Packer, I tried to use IH air ride on my mack rears and move the brakes to a lower position but there was not enuff room on the short side with the offset housing. Hope you have better luck! After I went with a Rockwell rear, I discovered that I could have used late model Mack saddles to mount the torque arms higher to clear the brakes.
  10. The EM6 in my Mack came from a 1983 R686ST with a fuller 9 speed and 3:65 Mack rears. Seemed to have plenty of low end power and would tote the log loader on it around 75MPH. I agree that the power band is a little short, but when all you are pulling is a 16K Snowbird 5er it really doesn't matter.
  11. The EM6300R is a reduced RPM fleet engine. It should work well with the 15 speed as the torque curve is relatively short. I am running one in my 71 R600 with a RTOO9513 with a 3:73 single rear and it pulls good from 1200 to 1600 RPMs but the torque falls off rapidly after about 1700. I think they were governed at 1800 from the factory.
