  1. l'm stuck in a '15 Volvo with an l-Shit in it. Worst truck l've ever driven in slippery conditions. Shifts [rpms/gear] inconsistently so you never know when it will shift. Often not in the gear l would want it to be in at the time. Putting a manual nine or ten speed in this truck would make a world of difference. Doors/windows leak like a screen door on a submarine but the heater works like a champ! .....Hippy
  2. [Phone call to dispatcher] Hello boss, lt's Hippy, Just send the truck out on it's own. l don't want to just sit there today and have people think l'm driving. Guess l'll stay home and have a cold beer or two and look at BMT. Speak to you tomorrow. .....Hippy

  15. Well it most diffidently does sometimes. My neighbor bought a brand new '80-'81 COE Freightliner with an 8V92 and 13 spd. He had trouble from almost day one with that truck. The dealer did all they could for him even passing along factory paperwork that he should not have had. When he looked up the dates the truck was started and finished it was Friday morning to Monday afternoon. .....Hippy

  20. The 5th wheel on the tractor was moved forward to almost the cab. The dolly was slide into the frame to the pintle hook. Then the dolly's 5th wheel was slid forward and centered over the joint of the two sliders. It looks like the 5th wheel in the picture is not the correct one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqWevOT6XSc .....Hippy
  21. Unit #3322 left fender has a large red sticker on it. Is that a liquor permit from Penn's PLCB? l had 4" high letters on my R model PLCB xxxxx just don't remember the sticker. We loaded out of Schmidt's in downtown Philly, l don't remember the house carrier but they sure bailed my ass out one Friday afternoon when l broke down near the Federal bank. .....Hippy

  25. Welcome to BMT! l can not help you with info on Snuffy Smith U models. But l'm sure there will be someone who can. The '70 MB l have now is the second one l've owned. The first one was a '74 Smith Transfer tractor back around '89-'90 with the same specs as this OVNT tractor. Good luck with your search. .....Hippy
