  1. Very cool! Thanks for posting the pics Truelove and Geoff. Truelove.....did you get a pic of the truck behind that Dart? What was it?
  2. P.S. that pics was taken at 5 years old. As you can see, not a mark. They did keep busting sideboards off though so I just eliminated them and welded angle iron to the top rails instead. So that no rocks or dirt would collect on them.
  3. When I had my Paystar I went on a blasted rock job for 4 years and never got a mark in my box. I welded an angle iron across the front and used 2x10's and welded another angle across the rear to hold them in. Never came out and worked perfect. That first time I used hardwood thinking it would be better. But after year two just the rear by the tailgate wore down so I tacked in a tee in the center of the box and just replaced the last 10 feet of board for the next two years. And left the original 10 feet in the front. That second time I used softwood and it lasted exactly the same. My friend who gave me the idea did his sidewalls the same way, but because I had a Diamond Line box with curved sides and tailgate, I welded studs all along the top rail and just drilled the tailgate for bolts and I hung conveyor belt from the top like curtains. left the bottom loose so that if anything did get behind them it just falls out the bottom. Did for years of big blast rock every day all year round and never had any of it fail and not one dent. When I was done, just cut the welds on the angles and dumped it all out.
  4. AWESOME PICS Other Dog! Thanks for posting. What's with the roof on the green CH??
  5. I hope all your gardens and crops stay well. Been a strange year for weather. Well all the best to you all on your Independence Day. Hope you all get some time off to enjoy life.
  6. Well, my Friday involved getting my truck and trailer washed in a thunder storm and pouring rain. Thought my Saturday Canada Day tractor parade was going to be a wash. But then Saturday came and it was beautiful all day! The 67 Ford was wonderful to drive. I had a blast. 120 tractors participated.
  7. That's a nice looking truck too! Unfortunately no more Mack's in my life but I am attending the first antique farm tractor parade for the season next Saturday in my area. Taking the 67 Ford 3000 diesel.
  8. I'm surprised you don't see more people making 3D printed model parts. I saw a guy featured on a farming show that makes incredible scale model farms and tractors and that's what he does, makes anything he can't find with his 3D printer. And the detail you can get with them is incredible.
  9. Unreal. The 60's muscle cars of the class 8 trucks, LOL
  10. Maybe, but it's got a C27 with 787 horse! No KW or 6900 Star is outpulling that, LOL
  11. There's only two engines for me. Mechanical Mack's and electronic Cat's.
  12. Does KW still make these? Only thing I have seen in recent years is C500's Speaking of big custom made trucks, has anyone seen these? The Elphinstone Cat Haulmax 3900. https://elphinstone.com/haulmax-3900-series-truck/
  13. That would have been sweet for that price. Don't see any of those around. It would definitely stand out.
  14. I tried to buy the Superliner tandem dump truck that was being used in the mine I work at. It was owned by a contractor. it was an E9 V8 (painted Cat yellow?) but pulled strong, 8LL trans that was completely whipped, 20 front and 65,000 Mack rears on Camelback with 12R24 rubber but had a good body and interior. He wouldn't go a cent lower than 50 grand. I would have bought it for around 20.
  15. Son in law went to the big rig loaded drags in Onaway Michigan again the other day. I was up at work. he got a couple short videos of that CH axle forward again with the MP10 in it. Man, I'd love to see that thing in person and know what was done to it. That thing is a beast. Now why couldn't Mack do that? Axle forward CH with an MP10 and sleeper options. They would have had a winner. And don't say it's cooling package limitations. Look at a T800 with that tine narrow grill. They can cool a 600 big bore no problem.
  16. I used to drive a 78 Ford 9000 with a 318. It was still super strong and when a friend finally opened up the motor every piston ring in it was broke....and it still ran like a top. LOL
  17. I really wanted a Detroit powered Massey. And a Cat 3208 Oliver. But I'm down to just an F150 and a 5700 pound tandem trailer, so no way I could even haul them, LOL Even my Ford....I'm wondering if the rear wheels are loaded because it did some bad things to my new aluminum trailer that has a payload rating of 5700 pounds.
  18. Especially those old farming implements. There were MANY ways to die, LOL Thank God you got lucky there and your arm wasn't in that sleeve. Man, wouldn't you love to have that tractor and all those implements now! That would be worth some good money now. I have seen some of those mounted pickers at the Mecum Gone Farming auctions, mounted on Ford N series and Allis Chalmers. I always like when you see an old tractor with an old implement mounted. The guy I bought my Ford from had some plows and discs for sale, but they were all 8 to 10 feet wide. That's a little much to be hauling around to shows.
  19. That's a nice lineup too. That 5000 must have been a beast!
  20. I have new rear spin out rims for the Allis. The ones on it in the pic are all rotted around the valve stems. Just haven't had time to change them. I'm fearing how seized up all the locks will be. The Allis uses a lot of parts in their spin out rims. The Ford just has nice big heavy duty, simple lock nuts. I used some acid the other day to clean the rust off the rear rims. His dog kept peeing on them and they got some surface rust. But they came pretty clean compared to this pic.
  21. Thanks all. Ex trucker and his chicken lights, LOL I did find free manuals online. But I ended up finding a set of new prints in nice Ford binders so I ordered them. Someone on Yesterday's Tractors went through my VIN and said it is an early 1967 build with European fenders and floor boards. Told me it was built in Basildon England for export use, and they started to build it on January 27 day shift and final assembly was on Feb. 2
  22. That's going to be it's main thing now Mean Green. Tractor shows and parades. And the odd work day at home. The Kubota's will still be the every day working machines. I went and bought a top link for it today just so I can work it a bit. The previous owner I bought it from sent me a video of it on his farm pulling a set of discs. So she was a worker. A couple people that are real purists have already told me they hate the lights, but it makes me smile. I think it's a great parade tractor.
  23. Not sure what they came with FJH, I'm new to these models. But it is converted to alternator and 12 volt. Because it has a big round plug in the block where the tach drive used to be and now it has a unit on the back of the alternator that drives the tach. My 55 Allis CA is also converted to 12 volt with a one wire GM alternator. The guy I bought it from also has two restored David Brown 1200's.
  24. So a friend did some digging and told me it is not a 1974. He said it shows 1967, built by the day shift in Basildon England.
