  1. I was looking at some of my photo albums. Here is a wagner after picking the load off my truck. This is an average load, about 28.5 tons.
  2. Our total new construction highway project is coming along. Moved dirt all winter, hauled gravel this spring and summer. Started making it black last week.
  3. Yes, the thermometers I have seen are sight glasses also. The cold oil level should be in the lower half of tube. I have seen some older hydro tanks that have a small round sight glass and other tanks with no means of seeing the oil level other than looking in the filler hole.
  4. Thanks for the ag report. I'll have to check with my buddy again. I'm thinking that his friends farm is north east of Chester, out of the golden triangle. I was thinking that it was ordinary protein, but he said that was at both big new elevators at Chester. That just shows that second and third hand info is not always right.
  5. Once again the farmers get f---ed. Was just talking to a buddy that grew up north of Chester. He was in Havre last weekend talking to old friends, ( or listening to them bitch) . Yeah, now finally the weather was good and they got a excellent crop. Now there is so much grain they are getting f----ed at the elevators. He was telling me, last year good protein wheat was over $7 a bushel . Now with the great crop it's around $ 1.38 a bushel...
  6. I'm with mrsmackpaul and other dog. Snakes make really nice western boots. We had a road construction project near Cascade. About 16 miles from the Missouri river. Saw these 2 rattlers and this bull snake all at the same time, with in 10 feet of each other.
  7. The new T880 I drive is getting some warranty work done, so last week they put me back in my old T800. Moved one of the crushers early in the week. Then end of the week did some site seeing with a belly dump. Went to a driveway/road 2 miles south of the border. That was a 2 trip, 11 hour day. Saw one of the locals with two youngsters in tow on the morning trip...
  8. Not quite nekkid, but worth a picture. Yes, sitting up there does have lots of advantages...
  9. These canola fields were so yellow the other week I just had to get a picture of them. The one end has a gravel pit in it.
  10. Yes, with the mountain views which what ever way you look and the long straight roads. I enjoy driving in your state in a big truck or just on a trip in my pickup. Good highways, nice scenery and very little traffic..
  11. BINGO... Yes, Nevada. US hwy 6 a little east of Tonapah.
  12. Took a little road trip to a state I enjoy driving in. Not snow capped, but mountains every way you look. Topped this hill and the highway is totally straight till it goes over the hill in the distance.... 11 miles. And not much traffic. It's not the loneliest highway in the US but close. Any guesses?
  13. This photo is a couple years old. It was wetting down gravel, Boise, Id. area. I saw B Model Mack in a truck paper and called just to inquire. Dealer sent me this photo, 1960 B753.
  14. Yes it does look like a brute: the L cab and big radiator. I was in heaven just nosing around looking at it. It had a V8 and I think a quad box. I was kind of impressed that the hood was aluminum.
  15. I was looking at some photos I took a few years ago. I just had to share this B755. It was in western Montana, but not sure where it is now. It was just a storage space for the sleeper..
  16. I am not sure where this B is now, the photo is a year or two old. When I was checking this ole B out, the tag was no longer on the door and the frame was covered with grime. Wish I knew where it ended up.. I never gave it a thought of having a radiator upgrade. Thanks for the insight...
  17. I have a B71, and have seen picts of 71's on this site and in "wheels of time". Every 71 that I have seen has a small radiator with the sheet metal radiator shell. I believe the 71 is the only B that has the radiator that sticks out the front. I couldn't find any badges or ID plate. Could this be a B71 with that big cast radiator????
  18. Yes, I have the doors off and cut the bad spots out and welded new metal in but now can't find any time to finish the project.
  19. Here is my 82. Not a pure breed, 400 cummins and 5x4 spicers. Its been parked for a few years. Trying to do some fixing but working outa town hasn't been letting me do that..
  20. I brought this yellow B71 home 10 years ago. I am the 2nd owner and since then the original owner has passed away. This past weekend the daughters were here again this year to go thru more stuff and try to take care of the estate. They called knowing I bought their dad's truck and told me they'd like for me to have something. The picture has MACK TRUCKS COMPANY 1950 in the bottom right corner, ceramic dog is from mexico.
  21. I agree that it is where you will get the best service... The construction company I work for got two new 2015 KW t880's. The one I am driving just turned 10,000 miles and the AC quit ( leaked off somewhere) and after I firehose or pressure wash it the check engine comes on and shows 1 active fault, something dealing with the regen bullshit. Moisture is screwing with it somewhere, mechanic plugs in and resets it and it's fine till next wash. It does fine hooked to a lowboy haulin what ever or the side dump or belly dump train. It is a nice truck but I personally like the t800 a lot better. This ISX does have some power, but it does not respond like my pumped up Big Cam 400...
  22. My 82 Superliner has 400 Cummins and 5x4 Spicers. Main box is a direct 5 speed( not sure of model), aux is a 1241 air shift 4 speed. Everything is progressive until 4th in main box. Hauling logs here in the mountains I needed to use 1st and lo ( it isn't a deep deep lo) a fair amount of the time, and never had problems. Maybe that is do to it being a twin counter shaft tranny?
  23. I don't know for sure.... Kinda looks like the one in " Untouchables" when the Canadian whiskey was coming in???????
  24. I can relate to the paint on the chain. The construction company that I ran lowboy for had crusher crews and digging crews. And if they needed a chain for any thing they would just take what they need from the lowboy trailer. After we'd chain down dozers and excavators we paint the tracks with florescent orange paint. Funny, when you'd walk by some of the crews 1 tons there would be a couple chains with orange paint on the hook and 6 or 8 links..
  25. Is the crane setting fence on the west side of Homestake pass east of Butte? What are they going to blast some rock? That bridge looks like the one on the old hwy south of Cascade. Sorry, the mouse fell on the floor and something got clicked on....
