  1. I gotta say that's a nice looking rig.
  2. I don't blame u . if your truck is cherry and u like it keep it . I was just saying you can make a lot of power with a 427 or 460 with bigger injectors and or ecm tuning . I personally like the bigger ch cabs . I used to o like the r cab better until I got used to the bigger cabs . I've been in CL and now Titan I wouldn't want to go back to the r cab but I'm sure I'd get used to it .
  3. just remember you can turn up the e7 427 and 460 . i had a 460 that would run with 500 cats and never got passed by a rd
  4. Any chance this new CEO has a soft spot for mack and could unleash the bulldog ? Nice to see optimism from kscarbel on this one
  5. I was always told mack cams and lifter problems were traced to not letting the truck warm up long enough before operating it. ,then again we had 2 identical e7 460 's one we had to change cam and lifters 3 times in 10 yes . the other one only once because a eup broke and ruined the can
  6. Are you running your Jake brake before the engine is warmed up ?
  7. Mack lost market share because of poor power poor engine brakes and lackluster styling. They couldn't compete with only a 12 liter in a 15 liter world.
  8. Talk about 6 /110 Detroit's . there's a mack LTL west coast log truck for sale on truck paper with a 400 HP 6/ 110 . I think its in idaho
  9. I think k2 should negotiate a deal between scania and diamond so you can get a scania v8 in the t line
  10. Plus the 505 mp8 is more than enough power for most customers. We wanted the better engine brake the mp 10 has and the extra torque for steep off road situations
  11. Yeah I agree . there were a lot of RW and CL's with e6 and e7 engines .
  12. I'm surprised how the titan isn't more popular. I think it would be if the mp 8 was an option. We specced out granites and titans . the granites were less than 1k lbs lighter and about 9k less price . it was a no brainer to go titan.
  13. JimmyR you have 4 titans now ? We have to get another to keep up with you . we have 3 and love them too.
  14. My brother liked his on the CL he had . it was real bad when the stealth didn't work . with the stealth it was better than a regular mack Jake . that's his opinion anyway .
  15. Pacbrake
  16. Back when they still made superliner alor of mack guys didn't like them. Now those same guys worship them. So it doesn't surprise me they don't like the chu rawhides and titans now . l
  17. If your gonna work it hard leave it stock . if your gonna play you tune it up .
  18. Yeah just what we need more ugly vans. Its not as fugly as that fiat dodge promaster
  19. They've been out for almost 10 years in volvos
  20. Yeah if he wants to show some gratitude to the mack dealer he'd buy the top dog . it would turn some heads at his freightliner dealer too ; )
  21. Go with the biggest dog .
  22. We've had a few minor problems with our trucks and my father who owns them will get upset about it ,then he remembers back and looked into his paper work and admitted that he had almost or as many little issues with superliners he bought new in 89 ,92 and a CL he bought in 97 and a ch in in 2000 . the technology is scary but I think they keep improving it
  23. Just for the heck of it I googled I shift /m drive problems and found virtually nothing on the trucker message boards so must be there a pretty descent transmission. ...
  24. Yeah 3406 and c15 c16 . big horsepower
  25. Mack trucks is more than a image , more than a specific model or style. Pete and kW really are popular because of there flagship 379 and w900 models and the caterpillar engine. The mack family is so much bigger and better .
