Looking for a pair of round aluminum fuel tanks and brackets for an r model Mack.  

I have built plenty of the amt truck kits.   These new releases require far more trimming and the plastic seems a bit softer.  I know things change over time but I was disappointed.  All in all in stoked about being able to build the trucks I built as a kid.  Sucks that I paid almost a 100 bucks each for this r and the cruise liner.

Yes it is him.   The cab is just about completely shot.  Missing lots of parts as well.  I'm still kicking it over though for a parts and title truck.   I did buy a b 42 model that was less than a mile from my house.  Never even knew it was there.

There's a guy in town that has an 1950 LJSXW truck.  The vin plate is gone and he cannot locate the vin anywhere on the truck.  Where did Mack stamp the vin on these trucks?  

Tomorrow morning Im set to look at a b67 concave mack tractor.  I know they are not roomy at all but im short.  My question is the truck is a tandem axle.  I didn't think a concave cab trucks were built on tandem frames only on single axle frames. Am i correct?  Price is pretty good and its really close to my house.  Hard to pass up but I'd rather know for sure.

Does anyone know the part number for the front shocks on an r7 model mack?  I haven't sent the vin to the museum and the dealer isn't giving me the number over the phone. 

Everything on the axles cleaned up very nicely.  Little elbow grease with some emery and wd40. Used scott seals found them dirt cheap brand new on eBay.  Next is a brake job, then wheels and tires.

They are very convenient. The tool I don't have looks like an old metal style thermos and it has interchangeable heads. Thankfully spindles are good.  Just curious but when is the next work day at the museum? 

The steer axle has the ring with a roll pin. The drives don't.

There was a wear grove in the ring so I removed the ring.  I don't have the tool to place that ring precisely back on so I went with a non grit guard seal.  I have all hubs off to check the bearings and races so I figured I may as well clean everything up and replace the seals.  The surfaces just need a touch up.

That was my way of thinking. The red pads are around 320 grit.  I'll get some

finer grit emery cloth.

I need to clean up the seal mailing surfaces on the rear axles.  I usually use a red scotch rite and some wd40, but was told to never do it that way.  Am I in the wrong?

That's a sharp looking truck.  Not a fan of the automatic tranny.

I have some tan interior door panels and a rear cab lower panel.  I don't know if anyone needs them or can use them for templates.  They stink like mad and are dirty. Before I throw them out I figured I'd ask.  Free to whoever wants them.

I don't know if this would help but I've just about replaced every airline on my r chassis and have tagged every line from the cab to the frame.  Cab is not on so everything is open to view and take pictures. I'm 2 hours or so north of you. You are more than welcome to come up and take pics notes or whatever you need.  I took photos with my not so uptodate camera and had Walmart print them out other wise I'd send you everything.

Thank you for all the input. I plan on polishing the hard copper line, and going with a 100r5 style braided hose.  From the dryer to the first tank I'll use the nylon.
