I'm 98 percent sure thats how both trucks cam from the factory. In my opinion, they both sit perfect.

  2. Looking at the pics of what you started with. Its amazing how good that looks!!

Just a thought about your tie downs. One of my floats has "D" rings on the deck as well as the sides. I was going to cut them off when I bought the float. I decided to leave them for a bit. Now I don't know how I got along without them. They are handy for old tractors.

Probably too late now its painted, but just a thought for whenever.

Great job!!! Thanks for sharing with us.

  3. That's a good thing to have . I have said I am going to get one for the snowplow. There is always stupid things going on around me when I am plowing. Think it would be good to have proof of the idiot passing me doing 90 kph then spinning out and bouncing off the one way. Then saying they were doing 3o and I hit them.

  4. Looks like a good solid truck ! Thanks for sharing .

My buddy just bought a 1985 as a parts truck for his project he is working on (The one I posted) . Its a highway tractor with a 400 cummins. Very neat truck. Has the original paint on it. Unfortunately salt has got the best of the frame. I didn't have my phone to take a pic. He is waiting for me to go pick it up for him. I will post some pics when I go get it.

  5. BAD DOG , licence fees have got stupid over the last 2 years. The government say they are helping us. But they seem to be shoving it up the ass of anyone with a truck.

I have never had to show my CVOR to get plates or renewals. Do you have a plate now, and need the renewal sticker? Or need the plate too?

I licensed my highway tractor for 8000 KG last year because I wasn't moving anything. I think it was between 2-3 hundred dollars for 3 months.

My corn binder has a historic plate on it. But vehicle has to be 30 years old. No safety sticker required. That doesn't help you till 2019.

You don't have a 1985 or older V.I.N plate for the door ? lol

It might be worth the drive to my part of the world. I am thinking the licence office is going by the letter of the law. I know there is a licence office south of me that won't renew my plates if they are already expired. They want you to start from scratch. That doesn't work with me. I don't keep valid plates on the snowplow in the summer ,or valid plates on the dump truck in the winter.

Hope it helps a little. Feel free to message me if you want.

    Keith
