I think you will find old Macks are like potato chips…. its hard to have jus one .
The blue R looks great !! Good luck fixing up your dads truck. I think its a great thing your doing.

My R with fender flares is 8 ft 2 inches . Without the fender flares , like your new one , should be less than 8 ft - only your mirrors will be over 8' 6" but I would think the outer arms could just be folded in .

Thanks for the pics OD.
The pic of the man under the car reminds me of the story of a fellow that stopped to help a young lady out. As he was working on her car she asked him he could be quiet ,as her boy friend was asleep inside the car.
We had some great fall colours up here too. They are all pretty well gone now.

I think ? but not sure …..If it has air conditioning it will have air cylinder, no air has the knob that you turn to open the cowl vent .

Thanks a lot for the great pics.
Just a thought, I had a brigadier that the brakes would lock up on . I had to put on a new treadle valve and things worked great after.
Maybe its the truck, not you.
Its just a thought , don't replace the treadle valve unless your sure. They can be nasty to switch out. Peddle pin and plunger may just need cleaned and lubed

Well looks like I got the old truck bought did some trading and some cash but wont get much done on it until winter I need to do some extensive rust repair on the cab or maybe find a replacement cab. Just wondering if the newer square hood RD cab may work as a replacement the cowl lines look the same but probably couldn't get that lucky..
Congrats on the new buy. By the looks of your RS, it's going to a good home.

Happy B day Alex. Hope its a great one.

Anytime I have had air coming out of the service line without a trailer hooked to it , its been the tractor protection valve. I am with you. I hate changing treadle valves ! So I always start with the easy ones first . TP valves are not very expensive and usually pretty easy to get to.

I see your a new member .
First, I would like to welcome you aboard. There is a lot of helpful info here.
I can't help you with your first problem, but my money is on the tractor protection valve for your second problem.
Good luck with your RD !
I would love to see pics of it.

I finally got to meet Keith in person and was hoping to meet Kyle B-line too but we missed one another I was parked 2 trucks from him . Keith's R Model dump sure is sharp. We all got some fine lookin old dogs up here in Canada.
Thanks BAD DOG, I had a great time . I was there for 2 and a half days, and think I still missed things .
It was a great show, and I really enjoyed meeting you. I was starting to think you couldn't make it. Then you made my day. I was sitting by my binder when I watched you pull in. VERY NICE TRUCK!!!!!

This thread didn't have a happy ending.
A rust free R………something we can only dream about in the land of salt.

Welcome aboard , nice RS !!
Just take a look at the tire size on the side of the tire. Let us know the actual size. Someone will be able to tell you the tubeless equivalent .
I think it's a good idea to get rid of the tube type. They can be dangerous if your are not familiar with them. Its hard now to even find a tire shop that will work on them.
Plus common tubeless are way cheaper. You just need rims. You can get them cheap from a wrecking yard.
KEEP THE SPOKES THOUGH.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. It would have saved you some grief.
The dirty, oily linkage is on my 237. keeping everything well oiled is what has kept it good for 30 years of being in salt.
The cleaner linkage is off a 350 4V . It appears to be the same, and a lot easier to get close pics.
I think this will shed some light on your troubles. If you want any other pics, or from a different direction, let me know
Don't let the spring in the 350 pics confuse you. Its not factory. I find I have a lot nicer pedal with 2 long springs (one there, one on the pump), instead of the 2 factory springs .

I agree it would make a great plow GreenGiant.
I kinda think my plow days could be coming to an end though. Contracts are going for cheap $$$$$ and require new equipment.
Something I don't agree with. My R is in its 30 th winter plowing , 18 th winter for me, and it has never let me down.
The new equipment is breaking down all the time. Last winter at one point they had 4 broke down with electronic or DPF issues.
