  1. A google search with that VIN shows it sold at Ritchey Auction for 35k CAD and it had a 1.6 meter sleeper, 460 hp Volvo engine, 18 speed, and 46k rears. With that sleeper, might want to make sure it won't be overlength with your trailers.
  2. Actually, the overall length is probably of more concern- assuming your trailers are the maximum of 20 meters long, that only gives you 5 meters for tractor cab and gap. 244" wheelbase is right at the 6.2 meter maximum allowed, so don't go any longer. Good luck with your new "B train", and let us know how it works!
  3. Agreed, the MH is the finest american cabover ever. For years I suffered through Freightliner, IH, Ford and the occasional KW or Pete cabover... But the Mack MH put 'em all to shame!
  4. If DAF was included in the sale, the EU would probably block the purchase for antitrust reasons.
  5. Continental Baking placed two orders for F Westerns of 100 units each. I've seen them with 8V-71s and single rear axles, but with only 169 of that model (FS773LT) built, I suspect there were some tandems or other engines (6-71) in Continental's orders.
  6. Anybody know what the code was for an 8V-71 Detroit, and how many were put in Western F model tractors?
  7. It would make sense for Ford and maybe Mopar/Fiat to reenter the U.S. class 8 market- the profit margins are much better now than when Ford left the market in the late 1990s.
