On the subject of the Ford 850 ,I'm completely unfamiliar with it,having retired from otr trucking in08. However from what you've said it sounds like a p.o.s.! I've been browsing Craig's list daily and I can't believe what you can buy a used deluxe road tractor for! Why would you buy new? These are mostly private owners,but some are dealers too. I'm talking 20 or 30 grand for a condo with big power and less for a day cab.many with less than500k properly maintained with today's lubricants you've got a lotta miles left before a "major" in frame rebuild.so I agree with you're advice!
