Has any concrete coming off of the belt buckle?
maybe a little, but not much-at least the concrete that's still on it is clean! I'm gonna do as speed said and leave it alone and just put it in the "trophy" cabinet.

I have to disagree on the ugliest truck of all time thing-I still think that's that weird looking cabover Peterbilt from the-late 80's probably? I can't remember, but it was one ugly a#@ truck!

Yeah,I fully understand that not being made of money thing. I haven't even started the mixer in a while...not since the Christmas parade I think. I was going to start it yesterday and dump the water, but had to go to Petersburg to load and it was dark when I got back and I never did.

well good luck with that unit Joe,I hope it's for sale and the owner was just waiting for the right buyer to come along and give it a good home and he'll sell it to you so cheap you'll think you stole it.

Great videos.
I used a Sony handy cam to do mine and I made a little sheetmetal bracket that I bolted to coat hook on passenger side. It alleviates the shake.
Your truck sure does sound great. What for exhaust do you have on it? It really barks nice.
Thanks Freightrain, when my muffler rusted out I couldn't find a 4" muffler for it anywhere,it was too rotten to repair,so I just got an adaptor and put a 5" straight stack on it instead of the muffler. I didn't think it would be much louder because the muffler was straight through,no baffles in it at all,but I was way off on that theory-it's way louder for some reason.

looks a lot like the A-40 I saw in Moneta with the briar patch grown up through the floor.

all excellent ideas, but my first trip would be to the used truck parts/recycler/junk yard to see if they have a Cruiseliner. You might run across any number of parts you might need if they do,and you know they'll fit.

Very true Speed,I thought about doing just that, then I decided to try to clean it up some and see how it turns out.I'd leave the concrete on it-that's part of it's history.

thanks Joe,that was very informative-I've got it soaking in Dawn and water, but no vinegar. That's what I was wondering, that article said the acid would stain the pewter, and vinegar is very acidic, that's why I thought it would work good at dissolving the concrete.Nice looking belt buckle, and sorry no smoke..lol. I believe pewter is lead, but I wouldn't hold me to it. Trying to think of what else could bring it off, but my mind is blank at the moment. -
yeah, sounds like it just came out of the deep freeze!Sounds like quite a find for you!Did someone buy the truck and put it away for future use or what?

got this belt buckle from my Uncle David and Aunt Helen for Christmas (they got a BMT calendar). It's really neat,it's a genuine pure pewter buckle, copyright 1982,made by the Great American Buckle Company. It's A cement mixer as you can see,and obviously used.It has dry, hardened concrete stuck all over it and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to how to clean it. I thought maybe soaking it in vinegar to get the cement off,but I didn't want to mess up the pewter...isn't pewter just lead? Any ideas? anybody got a smoke?..

Even though Fred had no male offspring to carry on the Flinstone name,he was rumored to have had dozens of illegitimate children who went by Flintstone, and after Pebbles and Bam Bam divorced,Pebbles started using her maiden name again, and all 14 of the children she had after the divorce were named Flintstone. Most of the bunch ended up in Maryland, about 12 or 14 miles east of Cumberland, where the town was named Flintstone, and is still known by that name to this day...glad I could help.
...just goes to show 'ya,no matter what the question is SOMEBODY's got the answer here! ...and it's all true
