  1. Our town took all their Macks off the roads at 9pm Friday the snow was coming down 6" an hour they said once they stared getting stuck it wasn't worth running the trucks and breaking something.
  2. I had 4 tests last Friday, looks like i wont have to take them! Went by the school and found Tilcon's WA600 moving snow.
  3. Look like we're getting hit with 6" Thursday and another storm Saturday. After all this that should be nothing!
  4. All the trucks I have seen after '94 have the wire going into the injection pump.
  5. That's why everyone would always open up the hood and shake their head. That truck also was able to pull out of a 80ft deep hole while all the Petes and KWs were dropping drive shafts they also had to bring a bunch of B-81s in to help too.
  6. Hallamore moved all the bridge beams for 691 with 2 DM600's with 237's and duplexs and 2 DM800's with 350 Cummins and 6 speeds. The beams weighed 62tn and they were on a 5-axle flatbeds.
  7. 2200rpm and my dad just told me it went from 30-77mph in 5th
  8. 1974 237, 6 speed, 46k rears, 22.5 spoke We use yo move everything with it. One time one of our stupid drivers went up a hill that said "Trucks Restricted" on both sides with 25tn of asphalt on and a paving box. Started to slip and he locked in the power-divier and broke all the axles other than that the truck always did what it needed to do.
  9. Our driveway is a hill so we have to push it in the street but we clean up the street when we are done so the town doesn't care as long as you don't leave a mess.
  10. My dad had a DM tri-axle that went from 45-80mph in 5th gear. It had a 237 w/ a 6 speed everyone use to open the hood to see what we had in there! My dad was running his R-model up a hill on 691 on Meriden/Southington line and his friend was behind him with his Pete with a 425 CAT he couldn't keep up with my dad who had a 350, 6 speed. The Pete had 23 1/2tn on and my dad had 26tn on! shows the power of the old macks
  11. Finishing up! North Branford has to be one of the best towns for snow removal. As soon as storm stops anybody with a good size plow or piece of equipment works together to get the roads open.
  12. Yeah my dads trying to plow the road and people just walk out in front of you. You cant just stop because you will never get moving again.
  13. They also got anybody who has something that can move or push snow in town working and people say they aren't trying hard enough!
  14. I'm looking at the news and all the comments underneath or the people in the videos are all complaining that the DPW's didn't clear their road yet. Don't these people understand you cant just push 3ft of snow up a road. It takes time and power especially when you have limited resources and can only do with what you got. I was just watching our towns payloader try to push up the street he was making 12ft rooster tails off all 4 tires and then the big R-model had to do about 55-60mph to get up the hill turn around and have to accelerate down hill to plow it. and this is after we made a path this morning with our 8ft Fisher and F-350 Powerstoke 7.3L. All the neighbors were happy to see that, even though it only made a little path but people just don't understand i guess!
  15. I wouldn't go that far. Macks are still one of the better trucks compared to Pete and KW. They still have a lighter light weight and better suspension.
  16. My dad was bringing a load of salt there last year and he asked the guy in the loader about it and he said that they use it for when the snow's too deep and the new trucks cant push it.
