  1. Heinz if you find one I believe there were two different gaskets don't forget to order the gasket! If its available
  2. If the engine has an AMBC fuel pump You could try and extra Gasket under the fuel transfer pump ! The little pump in the main pump tend to put side thrust on the pump cam and Can change the timing on number one cyl as the bearings wear! just something to try! 🙄
  3. Do to our terrain we could have been still selling Mp10 here it is a brute pulling machine when everything works right! Volvo chose to shut Mack out on that deal! Hope your right about the shim thing stupid idea! The MP8 is set up much better a bit more mechanic friendly !
  4. I've been out of it for a year or two But agree with your assessment mostly! Unless its changed ! What I saw and didn't like was using shims for the set of the rockers DUMB idea! Means a guy is AGAIN Tied to the dealer for a shim kit for what is normally a simple task! Mp8 had normality to it Proper screws and lock bolts ! And aside from the Bull gear failures and Decent engines aside from the cup issue that Should be resolved by now !Of all the new engines the MP8 and 10 were basically Decent engines ! and of coarse the half baked emissions stuff! Everyone is dealing with that junk!
  5. It cuts the air pressure in half so the front brakes don't lock up enabling you to steer! The way I under stood it ! the auto one which yours likley is after XX amount of preasure gives all available air pressure!
  6. Just curious! So Macky Who does your work now if you have other engine or chassis issues?! A lot of dealers won't touch a deleted truck ! Just sayin ! What happens when you have to plug in to check something other than emission related faults !( example ) Say to do injector cups and change Trim codes ? What happens then? just asking! I get haveing rid of this crap however there are other things to consider , just saying Let everyone see the big picture here! I'm interested! I am Not by any means being negative of your choice to delete just would like to know how you deal with these other issues that arise !

  8. A while back I posted an article on these guys ! Here is a bit of an up date and the corruptness of Our governments both sides of the border! CRIMANLS in charge spewing Environmental BS and not following there own preaching's ! AND Tring to profit by it! Angers the hell out of me! Bare in mind I can't vouch for this not being AI but wouldn't surprise me one Bit! check it out
  9. Bro your experience is welcomed here ! And I believe you will be an asset !
  10. It may be a front wheel limit valve Is there a limit switch on the dash? does it go to the front brakes?
  11. Also something you can try is after you push the seal and sleave on put the flywheel up and on with two bolts and take it back off again before the sealant can set up!And check everything ! it maybe that the fly wheel is pushing the wear ring on farther that the installer is pushing it! A! also as Joey and others have mentioned Do it cold with rtv or locktite or anaerobic sealant !
  12. So my point was the first tool Mack provided to do this job was a piece of junk it had four clips on it to guide the ring and did not work well! heat or no heat ! 50/50 weather it worked right! Get or borrow the right tool to do this job and you won't have as many issues! The seal is not likely leaking its likely the wear ring letting oil thru! Just sayin!
  13. we built a tool similar to this MACK REAR CRANKSHAFT SEAL/WEAR SLEEVE INSTALLER ALTERNATIVE TO J-37716 — Ferrum Tools for the shop it pushes the wear ring and seal on in one go and you can install the wiper ring with a small skim of silicone or loctite NO HEAT a much better way to go! The wiper ring can be a real asshole thing if you don't have the right tools! Works on E6-E7 - E9 ! I'm sure Joey must have this in his arsenal of tools ? Just sayin!
  14. Yup there everywhere ! Don't have to look far for them! Start at the top work your way down! 🙄🤣
  15. Yup go and look for a valve that looks like this! Bendix TP-3DC Trailer Protection Valve - P/N 109792 | eBay and trace the lines! I'll bet they are there just capped off!
  16. Ground each wire separately see which one makes the gauge work!
  17. (Well guys I guess I'm not as knowledgeable as I thought) You Are knowledgeable You bring lots to the Table here! You also Can provide good fixes and experiences to those of us not as familiar with the MP stuff like myself! Don't sell yourself Short! Just happy for you you got some satisfaction out of the frustration! I Think we can all identify with the situation ! Guess it comes down to, fix all the known issues before proceeding with your own thoughts! no matter how illogical it may Seem!
  18. Glad you got it ! Who would have thought! Mind boggling!Doesnt explain the ecu swap repair though???? Not logical! why?
  19. Compression on number 4 would have been bad if the engine brake were the issue did u check the slaves in the rockers when you did cups? I know those were and issue at times But seems kind of unrelated Maybe though! By what your describing and things you've tried it still sounds software related! How ever sequence of events maybe! Why does it run Instantly ok with the older ECU! Has to be a software issue! Don't Know ! Just trying to throw out Ideas for you! I'm not a An MP guy How ever Like to see shit get fixed! Keep us posted!
  20. Oh boy !🙄 that's a real head scratcher ! Does the new ECU throw up the same code! learning at limit code? Would be nice to know what that comment means! I'm sure some guru knows something!? Is there a learned Data reset in the program for this year of truck? I haven't dealt with this stuff personally However seen it done many times! by the other guru types at our shop!

    3408 swap

Agree ! that too! 🙄wouldn't even consider this My self! Wasn't one of Cats better Ideas!

    3408 swap

Yup its as scarce as e9 if not worse! AND not as good ! They also had crank issues in my mind caused of the 60 degree throws ! If you ever seen these cranks you'll see what I mean! We pulled a few v12 Detroit's out of logging trucks here ! Retrofitted E9 ! it ran circles around the Detroit power and fuel wise and the 3408 fuel wise it had the power but the fuel economy was in the toilet! The fuel savings with the V8 payed for the retro fit in less than 3 years! Caterpillar Cat CT 3408B Crankshaft New Replaces: 1W5009 1W5 (dieselcranks.com)
  23. Yes sir and it gets worse When the Mp engines get involved! Even changing a belt is an ordeal on these doubles the time ! They go out of there way to make things difficult! We had several Tandem Tandem Mixers here and with a body lift it makes for added frustration!
