  3. I got about 10 tickets. I never play lottery but times are tuff enuff money wise that i guess i fell for that have a dollar and a dream or you gotta be in it to win it bullshit.
  4. Well i got a wopping $350 check after my $1000 deductable from my homeowners . I have flood insurance on the structure and on contents so i am hoping they do the right thing. Due to flood water my house is gutted right now and just about everything in it was lost including my beautiful 2000 eldorado. I didnt have too much wind damage so i got my fingers crossed. I am looking at $45,000.00 To get the house back to normal, just hope i get the checks soon so i can get the rebuild done im running out of money
  5. you beat me too it i was gonna say that was an x FDNY rig. You can tell by the strait lines on the canopy cab just above the half doors in the jump seat area. Most of the non FDNY were slanted. My department just replaced our Mack tower ladder last year. We got it in 1985 and as any Mack would it served us well with a slight body refurb back in 2000 all those years. There was probaly 20 of them in service on LI since the 70s and they are all just about gone . Ours was 1 of 2 left in service. Funny thing about it was it would have ran better thru the flood water then our new computerized Seagrave which is a mess now. We had no choice but to use it with about 10 fires during and after the storm
  6. You guys and this BMT community are truly an amazing bunch. Your have offers to me and my family leave me without words. My family is in a good spot . We are fortunate enuff to have some temporary housing . I filed with FEMA, home owners and flood insurance almost a week ago and still waiting to hear from them. After seeing the devastation that was worse then mine in Long Beach i couldnt think of excepting anything . In fact Im gonna donate time and whatever else i can as a firemen in the community. It would be enuff for me to be thought of as part of this community. Thanks again and if it isnt too much to ask now that i have internet i would love to see more new york construction trucks
  7. GUYS THIS TRUCK IS ABOUT 5 MINUTES FROM MY HOME , BEFORE THE FLOOD. i LOOKED AT THIS TRUCK AND IT WASNT BAD AT ALL FOR THE PRICE BUT IT MIGHT BE WATER DAMAGED BY NOW. REMINDED ME OF HORANS SUPERLINERS BACK WHEN HE HAD A BUNCH OF THEM
  8. Back in the day construction companies would roll up downtown and start digging up the streets for the belgian blocks and had no problems so i dont think taking a rusted out hulk from an abandoned property would cause a stir . GO FOR IT
  9. thanks to everyone on here for your unbelivable kind words and support. its really a great feeling to read these posts when everything else is bad. i have a temp place to stay where i have internet access to start the process of calling insurance FEMA red cross etc. scrolling thru some of these threads looking at the old trucks reminds me of better times. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR KIND WORDS AND OFFERS. It is very much appreciated. Let me see how things play out in the next few days. Although i am new hear you have welcomed me as if i was an old friend which is more then i could ask for
  10. THANKS FOR YOUR SENTIMENTS . IM LOCATED ON THE SOUTH SHORE OF LONG ISLAND IN OCEANSIDE. NOT SURE IF YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE AREA
  11. well im officially homeless. i had to evcauate very quickly got my 2 dogs wife and 3 year old daughter and took off thru the on coming flood last night. just went back and the water level in the house got as high as the kitchen counter top. everything in the house is a total loss. even my eldorado parked in the driveway was full of water. man its a real dose of reality . i have no idea where to start . what wasnt under water was on fire down here . Hey at least i got my little family safe . God bless everyone effected by this mess
  12. Bob I hope your right and this giant inconveience of a storm blows out to sea. I live in on the extreme south shore on the nassau/queens border and the way these people are acting you would swear that tomorrow aint coming. The gas stations have lines like the gas shortages of the mid 70s . then when you get to the pump after waiting they only have Premium at $4.50 a gallon. The last 2 storms i had trees come down and crush the PVC fence but i still got 1 about a 50 foot pine tree that i am a little concerned about. Well I wish the best to all in the storms path and I hope the good Lord watches out and protects us all. Stay safe everyone
