Thank you for researching this truck.. This is an interesting configuration!!! Especially for North Carolina.. Both Quebec Canada and Australia use or have used the twin steering set up extensively. Now all I have to do is figure out how to post your info on the Australian truck forum the picture came from!!!

It must have been right around 1968, you can find several photos of that nose style on the web. When you look for 1967 Brockways, you don't see many (possibly these were built in '67 but maybe titled as '68 models).

I think you a close!!! That is about when I would guess..

  3. I had a delivery to our plant in Luray VA one day and there must have been 50 Model T's going to a meet at the Luray Caverns facility. They were strung out all the way from US 11 south of New Market to Luray.

  4. Mech: you are correct on the Viet Nam era name.. Living and running out of North East PA in the 70's I ran the "Trail" a couple times a week.. It was the village of Milford PA that objected to all the truck traffic. The village of Milford did NOT want a bypass in the 60's, afraid they would lose their precious tourist traffic trade, then bitched when they got all the truck traffic when I-84 was opened across NY..

Paul, That warped picture does not help, BUT I will guess a late 50's to mid 60's model 257???? It is a 200 series and i do not know exactly when the 300 series with the big square grille was introduced..
