I remember after 911 we were no longer allowed to go over Hoover dam with an 18 , necessary,imagine a tanker with something explosive or toxic deliberately going over the. Edge! The colorado river provides water for the whole southwest.having said that,of course they will milk the chance to add fees! Before 911 I crossed into Ontario with no problem,lots of precleared loads, or a few minutes at the broker. The 1st time after 911 they unloaded my trailer to ck.my load,with a 150buck fee took 10minutes! Also asked to ck. My cab.Not knocking Canada,they are always polite "to a fault".actually nicer than my own customs people.once I was running up 95 with a drop in Caribou maine

They cut me off again! Anyway it was 3am and I'm dozing off,so I miss the exit for us1! The next thing I see the sign for Atlantic time zone,I'm in NB!,then I come up on customs.The Canadian lady says just make a u turn and I'll call the U.S. side and tell them you are coming.I get to the U.S. side and the customs guy says"why wouldn't they let you into Canada"?so of course I had to explain the whole deal to him.
