  1. Hello Leon one thing I have noticed trawling through the internet is that the Dutch take their American trucks very seriously, especially Macks... and restore them very well. youtube and mackmuppet are other good sources for viewing EU Macks you realise Leon, now that you have announced "Mack Day" in Amsterdam, we are all expecting 35-45 photos from you..LOL BC Mack
  2. I was trawling through the www and found this site, had to get mr google to translate and he did a reasonable job. Choose your model type and see photos not commonly found over this side of the pond... sorry Vin, for some reason there are no U models in the index, maybe they lean too far and fall into the dikes..!!!! http://translate.google.ca/translate?hl=en&sl=nl&u=http://buzzybeeforum.nl/&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dbuzzybeeforum%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1024%26bih%3D578%26prmd%3Dimvns&sa=X&ei=5RJIUK_AAaKRiQLUvID4CQ&sqi=2&ved=0CCUQ7gEwAA if that doesn't work then just type in direct... http://buzzybeeforum.nl/viewforum.php?f=423&sid=cebd63b89dbd659a9612c546045d52b3 I liked the high roof double sleeper F700 cabover models..... but that's just me!!! 4. Interesting article for this 'west coaster' as one of the photos shows a Mack CL350ST, I will leave it to the experts to confirm that... now, as you read the article, don't forget to run the jingle from Monty Python in your head... I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay, I sleep all night and I work all day!!!!!... when you get to the 'high heels' part, you can stop singing... LOL Vinny, you can skip the song as it is PG13 BC Mack http://www.commercialmotor.com/big-lorry-blog/nah-those-aren-t-logging-trucks-on-biglorryblog.-these-are-logging-trucks
  5. I'm not much of a train guy, but I know what this is.... BIG BOY........ saw it from the freeway up on a hill somewhere near Lincoln Nebraska, I think??, had to drive around the side streets to find it, not really set up for easy access but it is BIG. BC Mack
  6. just some generic checks, not Mack specific... wrong head gasket? head gasket upside down? water jacket seal rings missing or wrongly moulded? have you matched the gasket to the head and to the block prior to installation? sounds like you have an open flow path rather than a crack my two cents...plus tax BC Mack
  7. Hi Bob photo of one of the last "steam ups" for 2860.... parked awaiting serious funding for a boiler overhaul... got to go to Kamloops for steam now, unless you consider Thomas the Tank Engine a 'real' locomotive...LOL photo taken about 100ft from where my Mack is now stored. BC Mack
  8. I've had this problem, years ago mind you, seem to remember an auto electrician putting a suppressor onto the alternator. Can't remember the technical reason but it cured the problem. BC Mack

  10. Gotta admit, that Overdrive mag was a truckers delight... here are a few "test drive" shots from the good old days... I've thread drifted away from Brockways, but anyone got a problem with that?? and sorry for the KWoppers, all stolen from a K100 site..!!! BC Mack
  11. I'm not sure how rare these are getting, nor if anyone is seriously hunting one down for use or restoration... I remember these as new when I worked at a Mack dealer here in BC in 1980, they were "just so purdy"..!! I just know how long it took me to find a decent Ultraliner.. cabovers are getting hard to find, unless you are not looking for one, then they're everywhere..!! http://edmonton.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-heavy-equipment-heavy-trucks-1980-MACK-CABOVER-W0QQAdIdZ372006823 does this one look good, bad or ugly??? BC Mack
  12. Nice looking restoration, date on photos may be an error. But what is with the Pink... even the brake pedal. Anyone know the owner, or story behind the paint? Oh well, maybe this is going to be someone's wifes truck..!!! No reserve, be the only bidder and you've got a great deal.... hope the Africans are put off by the colour. 13. Yes, I know it's not a Mack....but.... A good buddy of mine did this with a scrap bus, he has two more complete examples inside. BC Mack
  14. this may be of interest to those who research Mack history. Mack purchased Bernard of France in 1963 and locally produced Macks with cabs from France and UK. Company was disolved in 1966 after an unsuccesful venture. these two threads can be viewed without sign-up, but you may not see all the photos. Euro Macks http://www.trucknetuk.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=88758 Bernard-Mack http://www.trucknetuk.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=88628 a few illustrations from the postings are attached enjoy... a different perspective of a time when two Swedish companies, Volvo and Scania, were gearing up to take on and ultimately dominate the European truck manufacturing industry.
