vanscottbuilders Posted February 18, 2009 Share Posted February 18, 2009 Here's a question for everyone out there - I am looking for what I believe is an International Speed Truck,or perhaps the next heavier truck from the early to mid 20's.A "Six Speed" model might work, if it is early enough.I have been all over the Internet and found nothing of any realvalue. At least I haven't found any good information.This has been a pet project of mine for some time. I have a smallcollection of Buddy-L tin toy trucks from the 20's that were given to me when I was very young. Posted February 19, 2009 Share Posted February 19, 2009 Paul, You may have already done this, but I looked through some back issue of Wheels of Time, and found two trucks that are close, but might not be just what you want. The first is a 1929 Six Speed Special in Kansas 620-662-3296, it has the early six speed sheet metal, not the A series styling of 1930 +. The second is in the latest issue, a 1924 model 63, a larger truck, in PA , 717-487-2499. I'm guessing that you are looking for something like a " Red Baby " or a truck with similar sheet metal. I have seen a couple for sale over the past couple of years, but of course I can't think of where they were now, but I will keep you in mind. Have you tried a post on the early IHC website ? de37champ Posted February 19, 2009 Share Posted February 19, 2009 You might want to join or at least get newsletters from the older IH farm tractor collecters, i am a green and yellow person, have been all my life, anyway there is getting to be some auctions where these old timers have collected for yrs who have die and they are having estate sales , i seen one this fall where there was like 200 tractor and old trucks, maybe try a company called McCrew Tractor Parts, they sell alot of old parts and have been having some large sales, you never know what will show up, oh there # is 866-521-9515 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
vanscottbuilders Posted February 20, 2009 Author Share Posted February 20, 2009 Thanks for the suggestions everybody.Steve - you are right, I think the "Red Baby" is the right cab style.There was the exact right truck for sale in Wheels of Time a while ago,and it wasn't a lot of money. Hindsight's 20/20!I'll get out my old issues and try to find it.
