Popular Post Coltasaurus Posted September 6 Popular Post Share Posted September 6 Howdy all! I just bought a federal surplus 1984 MH613. It’s the model with no sleeper. It apparently spent its entire life sitting in a parking lot at NASA because it only has 9800 total miles. Based on condition, I think that’s probably accurate. I believe the engine is the E6 with a 7 spd trans. I’ve never been a trucker, just a hobbyist with my first truck and hoping to get to some shows. Over the years you will meet and make friends with a lot of great people.. I have found that the truck people are a no where as "Snotty" as car people!! Do you have any idea of the location of the NASA facility it was at????? Jeff Lakaszyck (pronounced La-cash-check) is active on the Just Old Trucks website every day and lurks here often. He spent 30 some years as a mechanic at the NASA Cape Kennedy facility and maybe he can help you with the history. I can email him to review this topic. For your pictures from a desk top I used the free Postimage.com site to post when I ran out of room before I sent Barry the membership fee. Thanks Brocky! Based on some old paperwork left in it and fact that I picked it up in Texas, I believe it was at JSC in Houston. It had some odd brackets with attach points bolted to each side of the cab fenders and electrical switch boxes on back of the cab, so it must have had some specialized use. But it is entirely possible that it is a NASA vehicle.. That is a very, VERY accurate statement. I despise the car scene because just about everyone in it is either trouble, a self-centered snob, or a kid with mommy-daddy money. Truck shows though? They talk to me, but out here we have many local small car shows. where all the guys did all their own work and everybody wants to talk to you, which makes it even better. That’s the way it is at Macungie. It’s hard to get through the show because everybody wants to start a conversation which is OK with me anyway we have a huge car show every year called hot August nights and there is lots of attitudes like you mentioned.
