wow,,,,i dont think ive ever seen them,,,,,but those pots remind me of something we used to use in my area back in the day for road construction you would light them in stick in the problem area,,,they were full of kerosene,,,,that was way before environmentalist were calling all the shots.lol.bob

Yep , I grew up around that same stuff, My Dad would always tell me the story of back when they hauled can vegetables from Bush brothers over near Newport TN ,, they ran H Models , his friends H Model froze up and quit, Dad went on and after a mechanic got the other one running a few hours later, Dad said he pulled in with his face all black where he had lite the smudge pots to stay warm… Yes they are period correct,, I have a picture standing on the fender of his truck,, I was 2 , 1961 ! Great find!

i think the highway patrol still uses the road flares ,,,around here,in emergency situations,,,unless im going crazy,,,but now we need to see your 2 year old photo,,,,i have a 8mm film of my pop lifting me into a brockway,,1958,,,i was also 2,,but i dont have a projector to run it,,bob
