I have 2 2014 CHUs with MP8s. Both deleted. Right after the EGR delete both lost boost pressure and they are short on power. There is what seems to be an exhaust leak whistle on both and the turbos are sluggish. Can’t get more that 31 psi. There is no black soot trail that would point out the exhaust leak. Does anyone know if there is a way to back pressurize the exhaust through the turbo to find any leaks? Has it been done before? I changed both exhaust manifolds to remedy the issue and still no dice. I’m thinking it’s the EGR blocker plate but like I said there is no sign of soot anywhere.

Have you checked the intake side at the front for broken or missing bolts or cracked manifold?

Which one would be the boost sensor

Inlet manifold! Let’s chase the sound first bro! Doubt the boost sensor for sound Joey no offence please! I know we’re both trying to help! Water at every gasket and joint even the egr cooler and tubing!

Can you notice this sound at idle? If so run a garden hose over all of the exhaust side joints turbo gasket too and listen for the sound to change! Use common sense don’t do it on a sreamin hot manifold?

Not audible at idle. You can clearly hear it as soon as there is exhaust pressure.

fjh,, i thank you for the respect.  I read this over again. No magic bullet. Was wondering if the o- rings off the turbo to the CAC have failed. They will squeal or scream when boost leaks out..

all good bro !  It’s a possibility! Not sure what tools he has but you can put pressure on the charge air  on the compressor side and if you have the engine winder turn the engine by hand till you find the spot where the boost will build on the guage  you may be able to pick this out with the water trick! I’ve only ever done it once on the red engine used to do it all the time on the gray engine! I’m like you I’m a gray guy in more ways than one!😂
