R model electrical help!

Have you put a test light to the wires on the headlight plugs?  It is possible both highbeam filaments have failed.  Just trying to think simplest/cheapest.

JoeH is right. Also, un plug the dash light dimmer switch and try it again. Those switches can cause issues.

Yeah I ordered the book but it takes a couple of weeks to come in. I’m trying to get my truck to pass safety right now so I can use it. So far I’ve only see one relay from the factory and both in g aftermarket on the truck.

Supahonky, did the book you ordered help out?  I just bought a 1992 RD688s and am pulling what’s left of my hair out trying to figure the wiring out.

I wouldn’t expect much response at this hour most everybody on here is asleep ha ha ha good luck I am not sure if you’ve ever followed a wiring schematic, but they are very difficult even if you get them right in front of you good luck.. bob

You know a lot of people don’t realize this, but if you’ve got a decent library close by a lot of times they’re full of auto and truck repair manuals you can either take them out or copy the pages you need and leave. Good luck.
