Mack B85F Start Up Issue

I recently replaced electric fuel pump with original mechanical one that I had rebuilt for my 1955 Mack B85 Pumper. I can’t seem to get truck to fire after sitting and believe it to be a priming issue. Once she gets going no problem and will start again no problem after short intervals. There are no apparent air leaks. It is just a bear to get going from a cold start. Thoughts for corrective action? Much appreciated. Thanks, Pat Gavin 202-494-9108 cell

when I had my mechanical fuel pump rebuilt same issue would not start ,we had to pressurize the fuel tank to start (tank was all the way in rear. It could be you have  air in the fuel line etc.  how about disconnect line from carb and crank over to see what it looks like .
