RobM626 Posted June 26, 2018 Share Posted June 26, 2018 It’s more than I have. I have a light steam out of my oil fill tube and my crankcase breather vent is more of a steady steam. You gotta hook up a manometer to the crankcase breather vent and run it at full load and see if it’s within spec. Look under the power steering pump, there will be an 1.5” or so tube running down and you will see some steam coming from there too. I’m going off of my experience.im sure the other guys on here will chime in. Follow road draft tube up to small can on engine, pop top of small can, clean out the brillo pad (oil coalescing material) to make sure it can breathe well. fjh Posted June 27, 2018 Share Posted June 27, 2018 Also you will note that you have a slight puffing coming from that fill tube indicates to me you have a cyl not sealing well, crack some fuel lines and see if you can change the demeanor of that puff ! Mackpro Posted June 27, 2018 Share Posted June 27, 2018 (edited) Mack corporate always told us not to worry about blow-by . Oil consumption is what they looked at. My friends 99 CL had bad blow-by from the 500,000 mile mark up to a little over a million mile mark when we over hauled it. Used a gallon of oil per 8,000-10,000 miles.
