E7 454 VMAC1 blowing black smoke like a chimmney

ok, the big port in the center should be sucking ......the smaller port(off the outer area of the turbo) should be pushing air. (not trying to be a smart ass) just making sure we are on the same page!

if it was the turbo surely there would be some damage or bearing noise, though you maybe right... I will try by-passing the intercooler and see how it goes...see if there is any pressure coming from the turbo.

Now the first thing I gotta say is Im no expert Im just a farmer who fixes his own gear and other peoples some time 

I have been told before by people a lot smarter than me that turbo spins at something like 30,000 to 60,000 rpm so I guess something to think about is its gunna be a lot different than spinning by hand on the bench 

You could also pull the inlet manifold hose  or pipe off and forget the turbo and intercooler and see what happens it still might make some smoke but very little your problem is for sure you have a air restriction just gotta work out which part is restricted

thanks guys all good now, as rags were blocking the flow in the intercooler.
