California Macks and CARB

Recommended Posts

I'm in the Midwest.  Does anyone know what the situation is with regard to California trucks and CARB regulations?  I have an interest in a low-mile, early-90s Mack in CA that may be coming up for auction.  Don't have many details but I was just wondering if a truck like that could even be legally run in CA or not.  I guess what I'm asking is should I expect there be much local competition for this truck?  Or is there low (no?) demand in CA for older, pre-emission trucks?  Are the older, mechanical trucks essentially damaged goods in California?  I thought I heard you couldn't run anything non-computerized out there.  Does anyone know the real scoop?  Thanks.
