Jorgy 0 Posted September 4, 2016 Hi All, My father was recently given a Mack bulldog ornament. He would like to know how old it is and which model Mack it came from. Unfortunately we have not been able to find it online. I was hoping someone could help. Thanks heaps!
0 j hancock 10,353 Posted September 4, 2016 The chest patent number 87931 "long" ear dog goes from the 30's until 1979. After that the patent number was changed and the ears were made "short". Would have been used on all sort of Mack models such as A, B, C, L, F, R, U etc.

0 Doug Maney 354 Posted September 4, 2016 Nearly all Mack models prior to 1979 used the long ear dog. A,B, early B,C,D,E,F, early F,H,L,M,N,R all varities,U,W,WS 1933 was the first full model year of use for the Bulldog radiator cap ornament. Included on the list of trucks would be, AB, AC and all variations of that model. Then you include the Fire Apparatus, All of the number series, then the letters and finally the two letter models. That dog really got around!
