I have taken a couple apart and got the rust out and squeezed it back. Used some heat, a vice and various screwdrivers etc... I only opened it up enough to knock out the rust/dirt and free it up. I think if you are careful you could get it opened up and fixed. The hard part would be finding the repair parts if it was actually rust through and not needing to be just freed up.

According to what I was told they are for a DM meaning they are square instead of round like on the B's, but they are supposed to be the same length. The Rs are longer by about 2 inches, I have some of them. I don't know of anyone who makes the round ones. Watts sells the DM ones under the B model parts.
